But they ignore the more fundamental issue:
“We are living in an interminable succession of absurdities imposed by the myopic logic of short-term thinking.” — Jacques Cousteau
“Facts don’t care about your feelings.” – Ben Shapiro
Like a crack addict who can’t seem to think about anything other than his next fix, liberals can’t seem to think about anything but spewing their emotions at the world. They may be reflexively saying something that makes them feel compassionate, outraged, sensitive or angry, but liberals usually seem to be caught in the grip of some strong emotion.
Of course, it goes without saying that emotion unmoored from logic produces a lot of warped views, but it also mires a person in short term thinking….if you could even call it that. Because when you’re emotional, most of the time you’re not thinking; you’re reacting based on your “feels.” This is where a lot of liberals live 24 x 7 and so, it’s not shocking that their behavior is so thoughtless.
Take rock star Katy Perry’s reaction to the Manchester bombing, “No barriers, no borders, we all just need to coexist.” So, what does co-existing with radical Islamic terrorists who want to kill you mean? Is Katy Perry going to invite ISIS terrorists from Syria to bomb her next concert?
He calls leftism short-term thinking, and even sees parallels between it and drug use, over-stimulating the dopamine pathways of the brain. It is all there right in plain view, but they just can’t quite put the last pieces of the puzzle in place.
Why do some humans think in terms of short-term expediency, while others will insist on enduring any hardship over the short-term, in hopes of acquiring long-term gain?
When you see these two psychologies, realize they align on so many other issues like issues of sex, government control, group-loyalty, and rearing of offspring, it would seem like these are designed psychologies, meant to serve some purpose for the organism. The question is, why would nature offer these two, diametrically opposed brain-programs? What different environments would each be designed for? Where did they come from?
r/K Selection Theory will eventually dominate the entire political debate, because even people who have no idea about it, are structuring all of their analysis around it. Once they see it clearly for the first time, thousands of loose pieces floating around their brains will suddenly fall into place, and they will not be able to help using it to explain complex thoughts to others.

So many people are sooooo close to getting this. But all too often they go down irrelevant paths that miss the underlying point. I heard Rush making some similar points about feminism, but then he turned the wrong way at the end.
Mostly they miss the point because they cling to the notion that we all have perfect free will and that there’s zero biological determinism at play. I still don’t know what to think about that topic (free will vs. determinism), but I do think that it’s a lot more complicated than most will accept.
The gut reaction to invasion should be to immediately expel the invader, that would be K emotion. Leftism is something else- its emotion with no long-term component, personified by Katy Perry. Then there are the non-chalant, unemotional people who don’t know yet to think long-term. Any rational long-term thinker can see that Manchester’s are just going to keep happening and become more frequent until the problems are “solved”. This attack should have provoked an immediate gut level response, the same as if someone broke into your house and attacked your family. Good people can’t be trained to just “get used” to this state of affairs, only the cowardly kneel to evil.
