John Fund begins to extend the olive branch for National Review:
The biggest surprise Donald Trump has provided as president-elect is just how conservative a cabinet he is putting together. “This is a more conservative cabinet than Reagan assembled in 1980,” says Ed Feulner, a key Trump transition adviser. As president of the Heritage Foundation at the time, Feulner provided guidance for Reagan’s choices.
The article is unimpressive. It cites three reasons Trump has gone conservative – Trump has realized the nation needs bold reforms, he doesn’t owe the establishment anything, and the left wants to destroy him so he must destroy them. All of the reasoning is designed to show that National Review was right, Trump was a liberal conman, but now circumstances which nobody could have predicted are forcing him to act conservative.
The significant thing is that National Review is now pivoting to become a Trump booster, because they know he is going to be a real conservative, instead of some faux establishment hack.
It means the Cucks feel weak, and are worrying that unless they scramble to get on the right side of history, their influence will dissipate, to be absorbed by Drudge, Breitbart, and the rest of the alt-right.
What an amazing time.
