Was President Trump The First Time Intelligence Spied On A Republican Presidential Candidate?

Here is a blast from the past about McCain out of Wikileaks:

The John McCain Russian saga keeps getting more bizarre. Sen. John McCain as a presidential candidate in 2008 directly and illegally propositioned Vitaly Churkin, the Russian ambassador to the United Nations, to donate to the McCain/Sarah Palin GOP ticket, according to documents released by Wikileaks.

Since the 2016 presidential election in Nov., Sen. McCain has accused Russia of hacking and meddling in U.S. politics and President Donald Trump’s successful campaign. But ironically it was McCain himself who forced Russia to interfere in the 2008 presidential campaign by asking the ambassador and Russian embassy for a campaign contribution.

Adding intrigue to an already bizarre story, True Pundit recently contacted Russia’s Permanent Mission (embassy) in New York for comment from Ambassador Churkin regarding McCain’s unorthodox written request for money. By Tuesday, however, diplomatic staff reported Ambassador Churkin had died suddenly at the embassy late Monday. NBC News has framed the death as suspicious.

Nonetheless, at the time of McCain’s presidential campaign, however, Churkin and the Russian government fired off a terse letter and official statement to the senior U.S. senator’s request for thousands in cash to his campaign.

“We have received a letter from Senator John McCain requesting financial contribution to his Presidential campaign.

In this connection we would like to reiterate that Russian officials, the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations or the Russian Government do not finance political activity in foreign countries.”

I would like to know more about this. Is it possible McCain would be so stupid as to ask the Russians for campaign cash to fund his Presidential campaign? Even I know that would be a no-no.

This would seem more likely to be a false flag, where someone pretending to be from McCain’s campaign sends a letter to Russia asking for campaign cash, Russia declines, and those communication intercepts could then be used to justify a FISA warrant to spy on McCain’s campaign communications, which of course would be run through the FBI’s counterintelligence division, which we now know is a hotbed of leftist activists today.

If congress isn’t investigating that, it should be.

Then there is this:

The same foreign lobbyists and Russians tied to the Trump probe were once associated to Senator John McCain when he ran for president…

There was just one fact missing from his narrative: Exactly one decade earlier it was McCain’s own presidential campaign that was being roiled by concerns of possible Russian influence in his own inner circle.

In fact, McCain’s drama involved the same foreign lobbyist Paul Manafort; one of the same Russian oligarchs, Oleg Deripaska; the same Russian diplomat, Sergey Kislyak, and the same wily Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, that now dominate the current Trump controversy.

The only difference?

The FBI has said that there is no evidence to date that Trump ever met with a Russian figure banned from the United States.

McCain actually met twice with Deripaska, a Russian businessman and Putin ally whose visa was blocked by the United States amidst intelligence community concerns about his ties to Moscow. The meetings were arranged by Manafort and his lobbying firm partner Rick Davis, who later would become McCain’s campaign manager, according to interviews and documents. Deripaska, a metals magnet, is president of United Company RUSAL, and is considered to be one of the richest men in the world worth an estimated at $5.1 billion, according to Forbes.“My sense is that Davis and Manafort, who were already doing pro-Putin work against American national interests, were using potential meetings with McCain — who didn’t know this and neither did we until after the fact — as bait to secure more rubles from the oligarchs,” John Weaver, one of McCain’s top advisers at the time, told Circa in an interview this month.

So it was Manafort and the exact same players who set up McCain, and they did it the exact same way they set up Trump for American surveillance. I suppose actual Russian assets that follow Deep State orders are probably in short supply. It also makes you wonder if it is tied into Obama later promising Medvedev that after the election with Romney he would have more freedom to be more amenable to Russian interests. Was Russia helping with the plan with Romney, to keep America weak and perhaps get payback of some sort later on?

One thing congress should look into is how many Presidential candidates have been the target of FISA warrants, and what parties they belonged to. For that matter I would review every FISA warrant issued during a campaign season. It is possible Congressional elections, Senate elections, and other campaign and issue-related entities were all under coverage. It is possible that this was not the leftist’s first rodeo when it comes to using the counterintelligence machinery to spy on political opposition. They certainly appear to have run the same play before with McCain.

This may have been going on all the way back to Bill Clinton, whose administration I am sure packed FBI counter-intel with leftists, to gain control of possibly the most powerful and free-ranging federal LE apparatus out there.
