A hundred kids now, across the nation, are paralyzed:
Since late last summer and early fall, some 100 or more children across 34 states have fallen ill with a strange new sickness recently named acute flaccid myelitis. Though some of these children show signs of the enterovirus, doctors still aren’t sure whether the two illnesses are related.
The main symptoms of acute flaccid myelitis involve limb weakness and even paralysis. Most of the 100 children infected with the illness haven’t shown improvement, and only one has recovered completely.
The death of 6-year-old Daniel Ramirez on Sunday is the very first to be linked to a mysterious illness cropping up across the country.
Daniel’s parents, Marijo De Guzman and Jose Ramirez of Washington state, that they first took their son to the hospital because he had symptoms of a cold and was feeling dizzy. Within hours, they said, he was paralyzed, and never recovered.
What group might he have associated with that might have spread the disease to him?
They have no idea what causes this disease that looks exactly like polio. They say it might be a virus, but they still know it is not contagious:
The exact cause of the illness is unknown, though scientists think it is most likely the result of a viral infection. Other potential culprits include environmental toxins, genetic disorders and Guillain-Barré syndrome, according to the CDC. AFM itself is not contagious.
Never believe anything the experts tell you, if the opposite is prone to cause a reversion to conservative ideals. Our government is so cowardly that it believes that it is better that hundreds of kids end up paralyzed for life, rather than the public experience the mild and reasonable fear that would drive them to protect themselves, by stopping the importation of millions of undocumented foreigners from third world nations filled with such diseases.
Now would you think that wolves would act like that toward their offspring, or would rabbits?
Politics is r/K Selection.
