US Diplomats Deafened By Secret Sonic Tech

“They put one of our’s in the hospital, we put two of their’s in the morgue”:

The U.S. government expelled two Cuban diplomats in May, after Americans working at the U.S. Embassy in Havana suffered unexplained physical ailments, the State Department said Thursday.

A small number of Americans began reporting symptoms at the end of 2016, and a few either were removed for medical treatment in the United States or asked to leave, State Department officials said Thursday.

Spokeswoman Heather Nauert linked “incidents which have caused a variety of physical symptoms” to the decision to expel two Cubans, but she did not directly blame the Cuban government for harming the Americans.

The symptoms are hearing loss, and the belief is they were exposed to some sort of high frequency sonic waves that could not be heard, but which damaged their hearing. It might have been a weapon, or it could have been some sort of device designed to use the waves to detect and measure, and maybe reconstruct something going on inside a denied area. Interestingly it reportedly affected officers and spouses, but not children, perhaps illuminating when or where it was used.

Some have indicated it may not have been Cubans. I’d tend to think the Russians too professional, especially since it would royally screw up the détente Putin seems to want. One other possibility might be North Koreans, since they seem to lack restraint in all other matters. If it is, I would assume we would take it as a sign that they should not have nuclear weapons at any cost, and war on the Korean peninsula would be imminent.

Be a fun time to be a spook in Cuba though, if The Donald lets them take the gloves off. My guess is they have a lot of ways to damage targeted people without anybody knowing what happened, but in the r-selected environment they are forced to sit on their hands all the time when overseas, to avoid the kind of tit for tat this may turn into.

This is one of the problems with coming under surveillance. The number of ways to clock what is going on inside denied areas from outside of those denied areas are probably nearly limitless, when you have the entire electromagnetic spectrum at your disposal, as well as the full range of frequencies of compression waves, and particle radiation.

But whether it is radiation exposure limits, ultrasonic noise exposure limits, exposures to chemicals designed to clear out vegetation or nighttime insect noise to improve device performance, or even the fire risks relating to the wiring limits of the electrical systems of cars, when surveillance shows up, it isn’t like an OSHA inspector tags along to monitor the safety of the targets’ environments. Since everything except for a small amount of official activity is off the books, and the guys who gravitate to those jobs tend to be cowboys, I doubt anybody has any idea what the risks entailed really are. It is not like the technologies are publicly published, and tested for safety before deployment either. Once you are in a fishbowl, you are the guinea pig in experiments that nobody is even bothering to record results for.

If you have the option, stay off the radar in the first place.
