Uncontrollable Rage Associated With T. gondii

Toxoplasma gondii associated with psychiatric symptoms:

Individuals with a psychiatric disorder involving recurrent bouts of extreme, impulsive anger — road rage, for example — are more than twice as likely to have been exposed to a common parasite than healthy individuals with no psychiatric diagnosis. In a study involving 358 adult subjects, researchers found that toxoplasmosis, a relatively harmless parasitic infection carried by an estimated 30 percent of all humans, is associated with intermittent explosive disorder and increased aggression.

The amygdala creates angst when it is active. That angst is designed to drive a cycle – perception, irritation, search for potential solution, implementation, resolution. When T. gondii riddles the amygdala with cysts, it reduces the ability to the amygdala to resolve its angst. As that unresolved angst builds, the only resolution left is mindless, cartoon-like violence. Eventually in the very amygdala-damaged individual, this becomes an established pathway for bothersome neural stimuli to travel.

This is the same thing which produces liberalism, only in liberals it is a byproduct of amygdala atrophy and developmental failure. As we approach peak r-selection and probe the outer bounds of amygdala deficiency, we see this same phenomenon more and more among SJWs.

Bear this in mind when you set out to amygdala hijack a liberal. Their amygdala is not capable of handling the stress. Pile it on, and they will eventually break down.

Now we are just waiting on the Apocalypse and the return of a K-selected culture. Once that hits, I suspect scientific studies probing the rampant mental illness which infects the left today will establish this solidly in the scientific literature. That will serve as a strong deterrent to leftism which will slow the descent into r-selection on the next wave of the cycle.

Last ride on the merry go round? Hard to believe, but I actually feel hopeful.
