Turkey Preparing To Send 3 Million Migrants Into The EU

Turkey had threatened the flood back in August:

Turkish President Erdogan’s recent threat to reopen migrant routes from Turkey into Europe would mean a possible influx of as many as 3 million more migrants, according to reports Tuesday.

In Turkey, there are some 2.8 million Syrian refugees alone, without counting the many thousands of Afghans and Iraqis who are anxious to get into Europe. If President Erdogan carries out his threat to renege on Turkey’s agreement with the European Union (EU), as many as 3 million migrants will be looking to find new openings into Europe through the so-called Balkan route.

Now as the deal with Turkey breaks down, Serbia is preparing an emergency wall, which will create a superwall along with walls that have already been built along the borders of Bulgaria, Macedonia and Croatia, thereby sealing the continent:

States in central Europe and the Balkans have been put on red alert for another massive wave of asylum seekers after Recep Tayyip Erdogan handed the extraordinary blackmail note to EU leaders.

And now Serbia has revealed it has drawn up emergency plans to follow in the footsteps of neighbours Bulgaria, Macedonia and Croatia in constructing a huge barrier which would seal off most of the continent.

The extraordinary measure was leaked by Government insiders who said ministers fear Islamist despot Erdogan is about to unleash a “tsunami” of three millions migrants on Europe.

As K-selection approaches, walls are coming back in style. If the economic apocalypse returns as forcefully as it appears it ultimately will, expect a return to strict border controls with checkpoints, and a population which will not have any idea how any nation could ever have allowed visa-free travel.

This is the type of thing that would have provoked war fifty years ago. Turkey and Greece used to be on a hair trigger even under the best of circumstances. Erdogan gets away with this now because we are playing by rabbit rules, where there are no consequences. He makes the threat, the EU backs down to avoid conflict, and if they don’t he can send the migrants (and empty his jails in the process), and nothing will ever come of it.

The psychology which will produce war from something like this will return. The question you have to ask is if a major world war with the Islamic world is a possibility. I could see a European nation someday deciding to take some limited military action to punish Turkey, and other Islamic nations jumping in to take Turkey’s side, followed by other European nations jumping in to take Europe’s side.

Once that war starts, you know what side all the migrants in Europe are going to take.
