Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is responding to President Barack Obama, who while overseas said foreign leaders are rattled by Trump.
“When you rattle someone, that’s good because many of the world, many of the countries in our world…have been absolutely abusing us and taking advantage of us,” Trump responded to Obama’s comment during a press conference in Bismarck, North Dakota. “If they’re rattled in a friendly way…that’s a good thing, not a bad thing.”
Rabbits innately recoil at even the faintest air of conflict, under every circumstance. Conflict is always an amygdala agitator. K-strategists don’t recoil at it nearly as strongly, and if their nation is being screwed, conflict is exactly the path to amygdala relaxation that they want to pursue.
As the Apocalypse approaches, rabbits retreat ever more from the impending amygdala stimulation by neurotically demanding all stimulation be avoided. K-strategist ever more aggressively want to meet the impending stimulation to try to mitigate its effects as early as possible.
You can see it in the candidates. When things are r, Republican candidates will be liberal Republicans in the model of Bush I or Dole. Democrats will be “moderate” Democrats who at least make a pretense of not being socialists. As things turn K, the Republican’s favorite becomes more K, to the point Ted Cruz appears moderate. Meanwhile the rabbits begin to demand an outright socialist.
Again, as in all of politics, this is a scale borne of amygdalae looking to find relaxation – rabbits by denying and avoiding reality and wolves by meeting the reality and conquering it as soon as possible.
We are not at the outer edges of the scale yet. Things are still relatively r, and resources are still freely available, so we have quite some distance to travel as the Apocalypse approaches. If full K were to arrive, such as if the entire world economic system were to collapse, banking were to suddenly become untrusted, violent chaos and anarchy arrived at our front doors, and money inflated to the point of irrelevance, then the wolves would demand conflict to a degree we cannot presently imagine, as the rabbits reached a point they would do anything to avoid having to meet that reality, from genocide to totalitarianism.
May you live in interesting times…

This may be of interest to you: Henry Heimlich, creator of the Heimlich maneuver, may be a psycho path. His son has reviled him here: http://medfraud.info/ The verbage I hear in him using in a biography video http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3x73fk does remind me a bit of some of the speech written by other confirmed psychopaths in Ron Johnson’s “The Psycopath Test”. Fascinating.
Interesting.
A suggestion – I understand that the analogy with rabbits and wolves is helpful to those unfamiliar with r/K. However, I think it should only be used in that context (ie. in introductions to the topic). Once you get into the more complex behaviour patterns, calling r-types rabbits just leads to confusion. Rabbits don´t, for example, scheme to kill wolves or establish totalitarian regimes (as above), and suggesting that they do just confuses the issue. Better, I think, to stick to r-types and K-types as far as possible.
That is a great thought. Some of what I do is now habit, and I just don’t think about it.

That is so damn accurate, a real eye opener to me, explains politics in such an obvious manner. Much thanks, AC.

A good example of a K-type being comfortable in Condition Yellow. Relaxed alertness is seen as an impossible paradox to the r-adapted mind. They can only imagine it as a constant state of fear, alarm, or hate; or, some form of sociopathy.
Hah! Panic as the only response to anything. You just want to slap them. I suppose that would actually work. “Fear me first!”
