Stratfor In The Context Of r/K

A great article here looking at r/K Theory by The Logical Agnostic:

Recently published over at Stratfor – the strategic geopolitical forecasting firm – was an article titled: The Dawn of a New Dark Age, which expresses in nonpartisan fashion the dire circumstances we now face all across the globe. Unsurprisingly, the author of the article explains the r to K shift without invoking or even implying any sort of correlation to r/K selection theory. This sort of thing only serves to reaffirm my belief that this theory plays out in the form of civilization lifecycles.

Excellent analysis. Everything you see in history that has stood out enough to be recorded was produced by swings in resource availability. Historically, the shifts toward shortage have usually been held at bay by human ingenuity far beyond the point they could sustain themselves, until an external force like reduced solar activity pulls the final card from the house of cards, and brings it all down at once.

Eventually, the entire world will see r/K and be amazed, but for now, only we are all in the know.

I am not impressed. I think there is a lot wrong with the article. unfortunately it would take a lot longer article to illustrate the errors.

the author has a limited or mal-interpreted view of history. there is a lot wrong with what passes as history and it shows in that article.

I think you may have misinterpreted what the article was meant to convey. Stratfor posted the original article to their site. What you read in italics are direct quotes from that article, which was much longer by the way. What I posted in italics were 5 factors which correlate heavily with the onset of any past “Dark Age” where there was sufficient evidence – from stratfor – and then I proceeded to explain the quotes using r/K. Please point out the errors though, you can even list them without much of an explanation for each. Your challenge as been accepted.

“unfortunately it would take a lot longer article to illustrate the errors.” That’s suspiciously convenient. You’ve apparently found all of these errors yet fail to even list a single one as an example? Are you referring to the r/K analysis or the quotes taken from Stratfors’s article?

“depressing, I know.” Not really. Some of us sit on the outside and watch. i.e. : Trump vs Clinton. Trump will find out that there is little he can do with the monster he has been tossed in to. Clinton will unthinkingly continue the horror. We have no control over our progeny. They are just as likely to be lipstick wearing faggots as a hardass like me. There may be a terrible consternation seeing what is unloading, bui some may feel a satisfaction observing, knowing that their voice was never heard.
