Socialist Amygdala Training in Cuba

Socialist meets socialist paradise:

Anthony Bryant was once so enamored with Fidel Castro’s revolution that he felt compelled to hijack his way to Cuba.

In the wee hours of March 5, 1969, the 30-year-old Bryant, a Black Panther with a history of heroin-related arrests, used a revolver to commandeer National Airlines Flight 97 as it neared Miami. He ordered the pilots to head straight for Havana, the destination of choice for scores of American hijackers throughout the ’60s…

“Cuba was creating a true democracy — a place where everyone was equal, where violence against blacks, injustice, and racism were things of the past,” Bryant would later recall thinking as he was whisked away by soldiers, whom he expected to escort him to a comfortable hotel…

Most of the hijackers assumed that great bliss awaited them in Cuba…

After being strip-searched and interrogated by the secret police, the bulk of American hijackers were sent to live in a squalid dormitory in south Havana. Known to Cubans as Casa de Transitos and to the Americans as “Hijackers House,” the building was only marginally better than a prison: The residents were bullied by armed guards and forced to subsist on maggot-infested bread. When they were permitted to roam the streets of Havana, the dozens of hijackers were frequently abused by the locals — especially the African-American hijackers, who came to realize that Marxism had not eliminated racial prejudice…

During his nightmarish incarceration, he was repeatedly tortured with bayonets and forced to witness the executions of political dissidents. By the time he returned to the U.S. in 1980, his politics had shifted far to the right. “Communism is humanity’s vomit!” he exclaimed during his first bond hearing in Miami. “Wipe it out!” Bryant was eventually sentenced to probation and became a conservative talk-show host; he was also once arrested for allegedly plotting a paramilitary assault on Cuba. He died of cancer in 1999.

This is a case study in amygdala training and r/K, all in one. You have to view these types of teachable leftist believers as animals with undeveloped amygdalae, programmed for a world of free resources, no threat, and unlimited pursuit of dopamine-eliciting stimuli. They are extraordinarily sensitive to the subtle cues of competition and ability-based apportionment of resources, and they grow incredibly uneasy in their presence.

They can visualize the world that they are designed for, but they can’t quite process that current realities make that world impossible to achieve. Nor can they fathom that we are different from them. In their mind we are the same as them, just malicious and evil because we don’t want them to achieve bliss. They honestly believe that somewhere out there is a field of limitless grass. All that is stopping us from reaching it is the non-leftists, and if we all could just get to it, all of us would be so happy.

If exposed to enough aversive stimuli associated with the pursuit of that world, these types of leftists can actually see their amygdalae grow, in exactly the way nature designed it to when met with those stresses. They come out of the other end of that tunnel with a desire for conservatism arising from a K-selected reproductive strategy that nature produces spontaneously. Their amygdalae are also desensitized to the discomfort of K-selected conditions. Once you’ve been made to eat maggot-infested bread for five years while serving on a chain gang your amygdala will see that as normal and suddenly capitalism is practically heaven.

Men are like muscle. They require resistance, in the form of evil forces to struggle against. Without it, not only will their life lack meaning – they will end up undeveloped – a shadow of their true, realized potential.

Cue Apocalypse to fill the void.
