Turns out that gay marriage thing wasn’t a slippery slope at all:

A mother and son whose forbidden love affair could land them each a lengthy jail sentence have declared they are ‘madly in love’ and nothing will tear them apart.

Monica Mares, 36, and her son Caleb Peterson, 19, face up to 18 months in prison if found guilty of incest at a trial later this year in New Mexico.

But the mother and son couple have vowed to fight for their right to have a sexual relationship and are appealing to the public to donate to their legal fund.

In an exclusive individual interviews with Daily Mail Online, they told how they are willing to risk everything to be together – and have decided to go public with their affair in a bid to raise awareness of Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA) relationships.

It appears the first step in normalizing something is to give it an official sounding name, like, “Genetic Sexual Attraction.” Then make sure you have a Wikipedia page, and finally, you need an online community.

If you ever look around at society, and just feel like you are about to pop, going out with a bottle of Glen Livet in one hand, and a belt fed AR conversion in the other, make sure nobody calls you a mass murderer. Insist they refer to it as a “Multiple Life Extinguisment Attraction,” then cry discrimination, create a Wiki page, and set up an online community to lobby for legalization.

At this point, society is still a race to the bottom, and it works, because resources are so free that nobody ever suffers – even if everyone else is repulsed by the freak show. If jobs were scarce, and this dude was going to starve if word got out he was sleeping with his mom, the societal approach to things like this would be totally different. Once there is Darwinian selection, you get morality, decency, pro-sociality, and greatness. Without it, everything degenerates.

Somewhere in the universe, at some point, will be a species that evolves the incredibly advanced technology to fully satisfy everyone’s needs, constantly. Maybe it will be a self-replicating robot that makes food and constructs shelter as it copies itself, with each copy going off looking for someone else to serve. Maybe they will just have one big fusion-powered factory that churns out helium-filled floating box houses, filled with entertainment and food, letting them float away to be picked up by whoever finds them. I don’t know what it will look like, but I am sure that at some point, some society will conquer post-scarcity, because it is what the universe programs its species to seek.

I also know that very shortly after that challenge was conquered, maybe in a century or two, despite all of its technological advancements, that entire society fell apart, and probably destroyed itself. Every trait that arises spontaneously once resources become free is designed to destroy every facet of a species, from it’s society and civilization, to it’s brain function, to its morality and spirituality, to its motivation to strive, to the functionality and complexity of its very genome. Free resources destroy everything. Intelligent organisms need hardship and the battle of life to temper them.

I know all of that beyond any shadow of a doubt because I am seeing the degeneration of ease and free resources happen here, firsthand, and I expect to see the converse effect set in, in the not too distant future.
