Adm. Jon Greenert said he and the head of Naval Special Warfare Command, Rear Adm. Brian Losey, believe that if women can pass the legendary six-month Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training, they should be allowed to serve.
“Why shouldn’t anybody who can meet these [standards] be accepted? And the answer is, there is no reason,” Greenert said Tuesday in an exclusive interview with Navy Times and its sister publication Defense News. “So we’re on a track to say, ‘Hey look, anybody who can meet the gender non-specific standards, then you can become a SEAL.'”
Notice it is the CNO who is spouting that bullshit, and the actual Spec-warfare guy isn’t quoted anywhere in the article. Even with the political skill to rise to head of Naval Special Warfare, the real SEAL couldn’t give lip service to this clusterfuck in waiting. As this interview was being done he was probably in the back room, head in hands, asking himself what he ever did to deserve this shit.
Anybody who has done martial arts has probably fought women, probably at a quarter-strength, and marveled at how strangely unbalanced and weak they are, even the stronger, more manly ones. Add in the fact that they often will weigh half what a man does, and you can see how this whole thing is destined to weaken the force.
This is what Trump has couched himself as standing against, and it is why he is so successful. Today, we are watching losers who just don’t give a fuck about winning screwing up everything great about this nation. As they do, they even have the balls to extemporaneously ruminate on how much more likely to win this new fuckup is going make us, and say it with a straight face.
This is why Trump is such a breathe of fresh air. He is no-bullshit, he wants to win, and increasingly, he has all the right enemies.
It is fortunate we have him. The desperation we have today, for somebody who is willing to stand in opposition to what can only be called bullshit, makes us really vulnerable. As time goes on, I could see us willing to support our own version of Bill Clinton, if only he would voice opposition to these types of debacles.

The women at my workplace harumph about how sexist The Donald is, but I notice it’s women supporting him at a slightly greater rate than men are. Women may say one thing, but they certainly feel another.

The problem, of course, is that even when women don’t meet the standards they’ll be accepted.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt about some of his previous leftist views, which he appears to have retracted from, but now I really don’t trust him. He also falsely claimed during the debate that socialized healthcare “works incredibly well” in Scotland and “works well” in Canada. He’s doing good things for conservatism in the general public, but he’s probably at least somewhat of a leftist.
And even though the Navy’s top brass have said they will allow women into the SEAL program, no timeline for when women would be allowed into the elite training program has been provided. SEAL training is a simply different animal.
