Weaken everyone else, and preserve their own advantages:
When asked by The Daily Caller his thoughts on the difficulty of getting a concealed carry permit in New York City and how rare it is for such permits to be issued by the NYPD, Rangel replied, “I’m glad to hear you say that very few people get it.”
“We don’t need that many guns,” he continued. “I didn’t know that briberies were involved in getting a gun, and that is wrong, but overall, if it is difficult to get a concealed weapon permit, I’m glad to hear that.”
Rangel went on to say that his own law-abiding constituents in Harlem shouldn’t have to carry guns for their own protection. However, the same rules don’t apply to the political elite.
“Law-abiding citizens just shouldn’t have to carry a gun. You’re not gonna push me in that direction,” he said, standing just five feet from a Capitol Police officer, who stood at his post by the House Speaker’s Lobby.
TheDC noted to Rangel he and other members of Congress are protected by armed members of the U.S. Capitol Police.
“Well that’s a little different. I think we deserve–I think we need to be protected down here.” Rangel laughingly insisted.
They are a case study in feeling an emotion, and then working out a logical belief system that supports the emotion. Bodies could be dropping like flies in Chicago, yet no Chicago resident would ever need a firearm.
No Congressman has been killed in decades, if not centuries, and yet Rangel needs his armed protection, because he is under threat, and “that is different.”
His thought process begins with a fear of being shot, so nobody should have guns. Then when asked about the men who protect him, he feels a fear of being shot, so he says he needs protection, because of his position. It is emotional logic. It is also why they are so susceptible to the amygdala hijack. That emotion is what hits them right between the eyes. Logic is barely on their radar.
The best way to attack it is to couch a question in terms of out-grouping him, to trigger an emotional response which will bend him in the direction of the answer you want.
Examples would be, “So you think poor people who deal with crime, in neighborhoods with a lot of shootings, are less worthy of protection than you?” Pin him down with “Are they under less threat?,” “Are they less valuable as people?,” “so you think they are expendable?,” and so on.
Out-group him with his own base of support, and then force him to either out-group himself further by holding his line, or bend to your position, to re-in-group himself.
Clearly from a practical standpoint, the left are all lying scumbags, out for themselves. The best you can do is use their emotions against them and expose their hypocrisy to shame them into silence.
At least that is the best you can do until the Apocalypse hits…
[…] Rabbits Have Two Urges […]
[…] On the diseased minds of leftists. […]
He said “deserve”. And that’s the real key word here. He deserves it, because he is human. the rest of us, we’re just vermin so we can go die.
In many cases, these two urges are unified as “homogenize the herd.” Preserve your own place in the herd by preventing the more competent from differentiating themselves.
1. What do you think explains the phenomenon of progressive rabbits who take sick pleasure in binge-watching or first-person-playing K-fantasy narratives about zombies, gangsters, asteroids, etc.? What’s going on there?
2. The rabbit world is led by an elite fraction of rabbits who probably have to be the K-iest of rabbits on the r/K spectrum or else they wouldn’t have the werewithal to be effective power-seekers and power-keepers at all, right? For example, Mao and Stalin would be the most K-tastic of Rabbit Kings. Am I onto something?
No consequences. Your character can die, the actors can suffer, and when it is over, the world around you looks vastly nicer and more peaceful.
On the second thing, I think we need to add in to the idea that r and K are the most common, but you do have other psychologies outside of those categories. I suspect most elite, leader-level r’s are actually just psychopaths and narcissists who lack empathy, and have figured out that he rabbits are unusually manipulate-able, and can elevate them to power, if they play their cards right.
I can think of one rabbit right now who is among the most harmless people I know. She is hyper-empathetic, hyper-pacifistic, and actually quite nice. She is genuinely just like a rabbit mentally. But she will vote for Hillary, who is probably the most selfish, ruthless, ice-queen bitch you will ever see. Hillary could sign the order to kill 30 million Americans, and not think twice, while the grassroots rabbit I know couldn’t.
Very different psychologies, and yet I am sure Hillary is not K. I am pretty sure Hillary would never fit in on a SEAL team, or be able to function in real K-selection, unless she could put real K’s between her and the points of the spears pointed at her.
So I just see r-leaders as opportunists who exist outside r/K, and probably fit somewhere in a box of one or another pathologies.
Just because there are r’s and K’s doesn’t mean there aren’t mental dysfunctions, or the mentally ill out there as well.
Yeah, that “deserve” was telling. He really does see himself as superior to us lesser beings. That he stopped and switched the wording shows he’s politician enough to know such “let them eat cake” sentiments rarely end well.
