THE plague outbreak in Madagascar has spread to health workers, with dozens struck down by the black death.
A staggering 82 health workers have been struck down by the disease – about around four per cent of the total number of cases – according to latest figures from the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The news has added to fears Madagascar’s health system will be left unable to cope as the outbreak continues to claim more victims.
There are also fears the disease could develop a resistance to the antibiotics being used to treat victims, which would likely see the number of cases surge.
The video at the link says it can kill in three hours in some cases, which I assume means three hours from symptom presentation.
I am also wondering if there may be some sort of antibiotic resistance they are covering up, given how easy it would be to flood the nation with antibiotics and bring the contagion to an end. I mean, it is even sensitive to Tetracycline, of all things.
Oddly enough there is a non-sensical article at the Express which has the title, “Deadly Black Death Plague “Will Get Worse” As Rare Disease “Antibiotic Resilient.” A careful reading of the article doesn’t seem to support an antibiotic resistant strain, but who knows.
Either there is some sort of resistance, or I’d think Gates and his ilk are seeing this as a grand opportunity to cull back the human population and they are letting it run free to gain a little steam, to see if it is up to the task at hand.
Never underestimate the extremeness of panicked reactions by leftists, whose brains experience such trauma that they will actually black out spontaneously when confronted with something they don’t like. With them, anything is possible, and by the time you hit peak r, they will have gained control of much of the machinery which is significant to incidents like this.
Once K-selection is closing in, they can do anything. Of course setting a pandemic loose would be a perfect example of an attempt to advance r that would lead to K. one detail about these outbreaks and the discussions about them has been bothering me, that amygdala effect. there has been a lot of scholarly debate about handling the immediate, and various term effects of disasters and mass infection events. there was a lot of discussion about how the impetus to process the dead is just an emotional service to make people feel better and not be subjected to disturbing reminders of human detritus. In other words, it was deemed unpleasant to see, but not really hazardous. Supposed authorities were saying that resources should not be wasted interring the corpses when they would be better allocated to the living. There was also discussion that viruses and bacteria do not live in a dead body as the host can no longer support them. Of course in the online articles discussing this logic there were pictures of dead bodies after whatever flood or other disaster just laying there while people were doing whatever to cope with the situation.
Nothing strikes one as more r than this acceptance of an unhygienic condition outside of any perhaps logical factors. The acceptance of a distasteful and unclean condition, the callous disregard of dignity for the dead and their families along with the community while only caring about the distribution of resources. The logic is also flawed as we have recently seen with aged corpses able to communicate an infection to the people who were dancing with them as part of their rituals. As someone trained in science and in disaster recovery, there is much hazard in any type of decomposing bio-matter especially types of the same species as the threatened group, here namely human.
The r-type is less clean and callous being willing to live and die in a greater level of filth and let the chips fall where they may. This is a very short term philosophy considering the immediate needs instead of restoring long term order. Perhaps the big money such as Mr. Gates wants to exploit this tendency.

I took the three hour thing to be from symptom presentation. Even with logarithmic growth three hours from exposure is unlikely. It is possible it enters, colonizes the GI tract and releases something like a Leukotoxin that suppresses immunity. As it advances, the immune system declines, and eventually a tipping point is reached, and it is three hours from there.
