Oberlin College Refuses To Enact r-selected Grading

The students expected it:

Oberlin College in Ohio is not excusing students who skipped classes and exams to go protest against President-Elect Donald Trump. Failing grades due to missed work during the semester due to protesting, will not be suspended, Cleveland.com reports.

Anti-Trump students at Oberlin College circulated a petition to urge the college to institute a “no-fail mercy period.” The petition reportedly garnered 1,300 signatures.

If the Ohio college had agreed to the demands of their snowflakes, all failing grades would be removed from their record.

The lowest possible grade a student could receive, no matter how poorly they did or how much work they missed, was a “C.”

Oberlin College President Marvin Krislov responded to the students’ petition via email on Sunday. He bluntly informed them that the college’s deans have decided not to give them any mercy period after giving the matter its due consideration.

If you live in a world of free resources, you cannot grasp why there should ever be any consequence to anything. I mean, it wouldn’t cost these professors anything to just write “A” on their report card, even if they didn’t do anything. That is the end result of r-selection, and you can see how it will result in a society that produces inferior products, fails to safeguard it’s greatness, and is unable to see any consequence to stupid decisions, like importing Somalis with 50 IQ’s who are wedded to a religion that calls for our death.

You can see how K-selection, as a psychology, can only arise through repeated interactions with a world where the punishment of failure is an immutable law that nobody can rebel against. You have to be conditioned into that. Otherwise, the urge to simply take the easy path, and develop the entitled, expectant psychology of r is just too appealing. We are designed to go r whenever it is at all possible, because that is always the smartest evolutionary play.

Even academia is going K now. Things are picking up, and The God Emperor hasn’t even officially occupied the Bully pulpit yet.
