Now Hillary Opposes The TPP

Hillary changes her tune on TPP:

Democratic presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that “as of today, I am not in favor of what I have learned about” the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) n a clip of an interview with “PBS NewsHour” released on Wednesday.

Hillary stated, “I have been trying to learn as much as I can about the agreement, but I’m worried. I’m worried about currency manipulation not being part of the agreement. … I’m worried pharmaceutical companies may have gotten more benefits, and patients and consumers fewer.”

She added that while there are “a lot” of “unanswered” questions, “What I know about it, as of today, I am not in favor of what I have learned about it.” Hillary further said, that while she doesn’t have all the details or the text of the agreement, “I don’t believe it’s going to meet the high bar I have set.”

Something is changing in our government. Very smart people rush to vote through bills they haven’t read, even over the opposition of their own constituents – bills so bad that once they read them they don’t even try to justify their votes. They merely say they hadn’t read the bill fully or understood what they were voting for, and obviously they would never support such a monstrosity as was passed.

You would think the job they were elected to perform was to read the bills first, then decide if they should be supported, and then vote in accordance with their judgement. Voting for the bill, then reading it, and then deciding it shouldn’t be passed seems an ineffective strategy for governance. When they do so at the very moment that constituents and supporters are screaming at them to vote against the bill, it begins to feel as if they are voting under the control of some external entity, against their own better judgement.

There is a bad two-fer amygdala hijack in this. If confronting Hillary, you merely point out that either she voted for the bill because she is corrupt and was ordered to by those who own her, or she is so incompetent that she votes for bad bills she hasn’t even read. Then tell her that either way she has demonstrated her incompetence as a leader. Add in ridicule and visualization with humorous stories of her voting for other comically bad propositions, and then figuring out they were bad after they had their effect, and you could drive her insane – especially if your examples were funny, and got the group laughing at her.

Either way, our government is increasingly appearing to operate differently than it was intended to.
