Laura Huhtasaari, a 38-year-old former teacher, is trying to bring anti-immigration populist ideas back to mainstream Finnish politics and her campaign for the presidency has seen her reputation soar ahead of the first round of voting on Sunday.
Her Finns Party has employed tactics from a variety of populist politicians, echoing Donald Trump with her “Finland first” slogan and French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen, who used nationalism as a key theme in her campaign.
Her eurosceptic rhetoric sounds a lot like that of former Ukip leader Nigel Farage, even telling of her admiration for the 53-year-old’s Brexit campaign as she told supporters to “take their country back”.
She said: “I look at Nigel Farage’s example. It took 17 years, but Brexit came.
“I don’t plan to wait that long.”
Everything is moving in the right directions, and the economic collapse we all know will come has not even arrived yet.
There will be a tipping point effect, because one thing which holds back a large percentage of people from making the jump to K, is the lemming effect. There are a lot of people now who are instinctually prone to go rightward who are being held back by the fact they do not want to feel out-grouped by the political leadership, the governmental machinery, and the vocal left.
At some point stimuli will emerge which will give the public the impression the left has become a definite minority. That will happen, and at that point the lemmings will, en masse convert to K-strategists all at once.
That stimuli was delivered in small doses in Trump’s State of the Union. There, the President stood tall, the ebullient winner who was the center of attention, jubilant Republicans cheered and clapped at his every word, and each time the camera panned to he left, it appeared a traumatized minority, opposed to the nation while resigned to its utter defeat. The chants of USA!, USA!, USA! only sealed the deal. The left looked like a minority of losers, and as that image now repeats itself, that will change how a large swath of people see Donald Trump.
It has been a rough ride to this point. But all of that was merely laying the foundation for this time, our time. The right will be now be increasingly dominant, but enjoy it with a tempered wisdom, because all the success and safety which the right will produce will only set the stage for the left’s eventual return to power, and destruction of it all.
The battle will always continue, for the foreseeable future.
Tell others about r/K Theory, because this is just the start of the K-shift
I’d call it “Fixit”
