Now Cognitive Privilege Is A Thing

Yet again, reward idiocy, and punish ability:

The University of Iowa’s student newspaper has announced the discovery of a special privilege which intelligent people acquire as an accident of birth. This new privilege — called “cognitive privilege” — functions in essentially the same way as white privilege.

The Daily Iowan revealed the discovery of this new privilege earlier this week.

Garden-variety white privilege “is an important topic that deserves a public discussion,” the op-ed on “cognitive privilege” explains, but it is also “prudent to at least mention the wider concept contained therein: that of privilege itself.”

Privilege in general is “the receipt of certain benefits wholly through accident of birth and it is “undeniable that privilege itself is a reality,” the student newspaper explains.

As with skin color and much else, Daily Iowan author Dan Williams argues, people have no control over how smart they are. Life is a huge cosmic lottery full of winners and losers.

Cognitive privilege is one of “many kinds of privilege besides white privilege.”

Also, Williams declares, robots will wipe out manual labor jobs but will somehow not affect jobs available to members of a special cognitive elite.

“Thus, the accident of having been born smart enough to be able to be successful is a great benefit that you did absolutely nothing to earn. Consequently, you have nothing to be proud of for being smart.”

We need to rename this “Smart privilege,” or “Not-a-retard privilege.”

This is about advancing the r-strategy, which is strongly selected against if there is any favor conferred on ability, effort, determination, or accomplishment. You would not see them concerned with this, if times were extremely r-selected, and the idiots were breeding apace.

What it means is K-selection is closing in, and the rabbits are feeling it. They are under assault, and they are trying to seize any advantage they can find, using any means they can muster. Because they are cowards, that means they try to bluff everyone into giving up resources in the face of their claims of unfairness.

I expect that when things go full K, there will be, for a time, calls to redistribute everything from money to sex. When there is more of all of that than everyone needs, we all give in, because why fight for something so prolific?

The only solution to that demand is a shortage which forces everyone who rightfully acquires their spoils to tell the leftists to go screw themselves.

Tell others about r/K Theory, because the only solution is K-selection

“Thus, the accident of having been born smart enough to be able to be successful is a great benefit that you did absolutely nothing to earn. Consequently, you have nothing to be proud of for being smart.”.

They think this is completely random and don’t acknowledge that smart people might be intentionally mating with smart people and K-raising children. Family lineage and “sins of the father” are lost on these people.

It’s almost like the left reads this blog to come up with new ideas that serve to substantiate the r/K hypothesis and that are inexplicable otherwise.

i think that you’re onto someone with epigenetics and r/K. …as epigenetics is the overlap between nature + nuture.

Not an crazy hypothesis—being in a stable male-female relationship during pregnancy lowers stress hormones in the womb. Lower stress hormones leads to better development outcomes. Higher stress hormones leads to narcissism, anxiety, etc.

There are many studies linking stress and diet pregnancy to development outcomes.

Wow, U of Iowa just discovered I.Q.

“Also, Williams declares, robots will wipe out manual labor jobs but will somehow not affect jobs available to members of a special cognitive elite.”

He has it backwards. Information jobs are far easier to automate — just write a Perl script or Word macro. The legal profession is going through a major downsizing as computer software replaces clerks and junior lawyers, but auto repair, plumbing, electric, and HVAC will require skilled human hands for a very long time to come. Robots work well inside a carefully engineered environment like a factory or Amazon warehouse, but fail unpredictably and catastrophically (cf. recent Tesla crashes) in the confusing mess we call “the real world”.

I intend to direct my sons into jobs that are (a) too complex for Mexicans and Africans, (b) too dirty for women, (c) do not require a college degree, and (d) cannot be outsourced to Bangalore. And I tell them to learn math because “All the good jobs that don’t require math are reserved for women and minorities.”

AC, do you think forcing r-strategists to compete would K-ify them to some degree? Whoever is writing for the U of Iowa newspaper can’t be completely tarded- maybe some boot camp or time in a boxing ring would do them some good. Maybe we could drop them into some forested wilderness and let them find their way back to civilization. Then they’d have something to write about. Not to make it sound like a gulag or anything, but most Western nations used to have a military draft, that seemed to prevent a lot of this super r behavior.

They’re right, it is easier.

Except for the cognitive privilege of idiots thinking they are entitled to an opinion.

Of course this goes against the lefty view that intelligence is a product of environment (i.e. nurture vs. nature). They’ve long fought against the concept of IQ and heritability of intelligence.

Somebody from the social sciences at U of Iowa will talking to this young man. Must stay on script!
