Independent journalist Bari Weiss revealed on Thursday how Twitter used blacklists to limit the visibility of tweets coming from conservative users in the latest disclosure of the social media giant’s internal operations. Right-wing talk show host Dan Bongino, Stanford University’s anti-COVID lockdown advocate Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, and conservative activist Charlie Kirk were among the users targeted for suppression. Notice, no mention of Vox, who has a bigger real audience than Bongino and Kirk, I am sure. They give Bongino a million fake followers, give him fake traffic, and mention him in all the news stories. But if Bongino linked here, it would send 200 clicks. And the search blacklist she says Bongino temporarily had, I still had as of 11/24, despite not tweeting, though I just checked now and it was lifted.
Her original analysis is here. Though again, Musk is not revealing the actual documents, likely because it would be fascinating for each of us to see where somebody in Twitter, emailed somebody else, saying “You need to ban this guy for this reason.” In my case, the search ban would be doubly fascinating as I never used the account, so I never tweeted, and they should not have known who I was. Somewhere in those files it is likely there will be somebody who knew who I was in real life, who contacted twitter and said, “This guy is problematic because we know him, put a ban on his account.” Before I ever tweeted.
Some are pointing out that the photos she included in the thread, such as of Charlie Kirk’s backend profile page here with his “Do Not Amplify” status as a sort of badge……

On Twitter one question some anons are raising is, will any of these communications reveal the shadow banning was occurring across platforms? Will there be messages revealing that a tweet would provoke some central notification that would lead to a Youtube/Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/TikTok/etc. shadow ban, as some reported. Was the government coordinating, as in FBI tapped the database to find all your social media accounts, and had them all de-boosted at once.
Of course Elon is only giving some of the data to two controlled journalists to tell us what the machine wants to say, to trick us back on twitter.

A friend of mine has leukemia. One of the palliative treatments for it is transfusion. He stopped taking the transfusions after the horror of the vaxx started coming out.
He was at the doctor’s office last Tuesday, and they pressed him hard to take a transfusion. He asked if they could guarantee unvaxxed blood. You have to understand that cities like NY and LA have huge criminal underclasses, literally tens of thousands of men, mostly black, between the ages of 18 and 50, who have served time for something.

20 years ago I worked at the largest prop house in Manhattan, and the owner had a contract with the state of NY wherein they hired ex cons, and I’m talking guys who had served at least 5 years, but many of them 10 to 20, and in return, the owner got certain tax credits and other little goodies.
Of course, trying to keep several dozen felons in line and focused all day was a chore in and of itself, and serious violence occasionally occurred, and I witnessed it personally, so I think buying into a plan to employ these idiots was ultimately a bad decision, but whatever, I left after a year there an never looked back.
Spending 8 hours a day working on a busy loading dock with violent scumbags will disabuse anyone of any fantasy that ex cons are victims or in need of sympathy. They really are the scum of the earth. Barely human.

The basic problem with our justice system is that instead of just making sure the level of proof was correct we stopped using execution for violent crimes.

Just for you AC. Have you ever heard of Modafinil? It’s a med that is prescribed for shift workers a lot. I take it and have a friend now getting a script from his doc for it. It has been around for years. Docs around here will give you the script for sleep disturbances or out of the ordinary working hours. My friends doc gave it to him because he uses a cpap machine. He is now the poster child for this med. I have been buying the generic from India for years. It is less than 30.00 for a months supply. It is not speed.

I have been taking it for over ten years and I too get it from India, even though I had a prescription, since it is so much cheaper. I go off Saturday and Sunday (the cycling keeps it affective), but it keeps me focused and on point all week. The standard dose from India is 200 mg. I split the pill in half and take one a day. A 300 pill order which last cost $290 is good for almost 2 years. It works on the hypothalamus and is better than Ritalin for those who are ADHD, as I am, keeping you on focus. The older you are the more you appreciate the stuff. Had a friend who was in her early 80’s who said it gave her her life back.

FWIW, the big trend for food trailers went from “Ew…how third world!” to “Awesome, our town is on TREND” when a gay couple bought a trailer, and didn’t like how they were perceived or treated. One of the couple had been in gay activism for years, had retired from it to run the food trailer.

Not at all. I’ve worked with computers my whole life. I know how damn dumb they are. I also know that the problem of surplus labor can be handled organically simply by stopping the public assistance. Allow resources to allocate organically and they will favor the productive, whatever that happens to mean in terms of occupation.
For that matter, the alternative economy runs basically opposite of the corporate economy which right now is having labor shortage issues due to the Great Resignation. People are already checking out and doing their own thing.
I am absolutely grateful to God for my day job, and to my boss for hiring me, and when I am making roughly double my current regular salary using my machines I am quitting to do BOOTSTRAPPY full time, and everybody KNOWS THIS about me including him. I already make a special tool for the plant that I designed to clean one of our machines – the company buys them from me ten at a time. They have to be plastic to avoid damaging the machine, which means they wear out. We’re fully automating where I work and it won’t cost even a single person their job, but it WILL increase our output CONSIDERABLY. We’re actually getting pay raises at certain automation milestones as each one increases the cashflow because we ship more product. Plus once I get my machines doing aluminum the boss wants me to do a few parts for his experimental airplane which may end up becoming niche items that get sold across the country to others with similar planes.
I don’t work for a publicly traded corporation. The product we produce is under contract for a company doesn’t want the expense of actually making their stuff. They sub it out to us, we make it, ship it to them, they repackage it and send it to retail. This is ridiculously common across industry.
Have you ever seen robots try to make something out of carbon fiber? especially a complex shape? Give you a hint, a robot that can would be more expensive to manufacture & maintain than it costs to just have people do it with their expensive medical insurance and 401Ks. You don’t need to be a genius to lay up carbon fiber.
All of this is why I am so focused on entry level CNC and how to increase it’s bang for buck. Small machines that can give people independence – it’s just one little piece, but how many people around the world right now are working one one little piece that when all fit together actually solves the problem? It’s an act of faith, and it’s a faith that I have.
