Who is taking these flights? Given all the BS you have to go through at the airport now, anyplace I can drive to in less than 4 hours I just drive to. If I could take a train in 2.5 hours to a place that’s a 1 hour flight, I would jump on that in a heartbeat.
You have to show up an hour early. The flight takes an hour. It takes half and hour to moo your way through the crowd off the plane and through the airport to get to a car. Another half an hour to get to the car rental and get your car, if you are getting one AND if they have an aisle of “jump in and go” cars. You are already at 3 hours, on the outskirts of town where the airport always is, or you could take the 2.5 hour train in the same 3 hours and usually end up downtown.
so let’s recap. air travel in the US used to be a ton of fun – exciting, glamorous, reliable as hell and they always got you there on time and b) never lost your luggage. hell, the stews were hot then, too. (and they didn’t all have that ‘I’m in charge so you assholes must listen to me’ vibe the modern stews now have)(seriously, fuck off, stewardii)
but now things are much much much worse. so bad that a case can be made that it’s a 3rd-world air-traffic system. we USED TO run a good system, so, y’know, we know how to do that… but now we CAN’T.

It really was. I used to carry a swiss army knife. I would put it on the tray at the x-ray, they would send it through then give it back. Get there a little before the flight. Run through the x-ray and gone. Fantastic. Last time I flew, they made me remove my boots for no particular reason except they need to remove so many boots. Some old white guy was made to take off his shoes, he asked “what for” and some behemoth said,”cause I said so”. I don’t fly any more if at all possible.
I’ll tell you how to fix this. Set a fixed rate for security with so many security, per so many planes and make it mandatory for the airlines to have that number. Make them pay them a set high wage so they could get good people. Get rid of any laws on profiling, then leave it to them. We’d all be safer and the whole thing would be more pleasant.
The only reason I’ve flown since the mid ’00’s has been for work, and even at that, I haven’t had a trip since 2019. My work pays for TSA Pre-check, which helps a little bit with the BS at the airport. But I only fly when I absolutely have to.
The only reason I took the last trip is because it was an offer to go to . They had a giant gay flag flying between the US and their state flags. But they’re as globohomo as anything.
In my other comment, I tried to say the trip was to an unspecified tech giant, but I put it in carats, so the software removed it.

I lived on the north side of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and had to go to Jacksonville, Arkansas which is just north of Little Rock from time to time. I flew once. It was a 45 minute drive to the airport, an hour between parking, checking in, boarding and takeoff. The plane flew to Raleigh where I spent an hour switching planes. That plane took me to Atlanta with a two hour layover n the terminal. The third flight was to Little Rock. It took over an hour to deplane, get my luggage, rent a car and leave the airport and another 40 minutes to Jacksonville. I drove the next trip and the time between my house and the hotel (just about 12 hours) was almost an hour quicker than flying, and that was back when the speed limit was 55 miles per hour. Since then my wife and I have had a rule, if the drive time was under 10 hours, we always drove. It was cheaper, faster, and more convenient than flying.

I have written an article or two on this topic, albeit not about vaccines. I don’t believe it is all that uncommon for researchers to consciously contradict themselves in a paper when external political pressures are present. In fact, I have come to believe the peer review process (whatever the original merits and intentions may have been) has mainly come to be a gatekeeping operation meant to block any inconvenient truth from getting out there. These papers with contradictions may be a kind of protest to this. They have to follow the narrative to get the paper published at all, but don’t bother hiding the actual results so that you can actually see the real conclusion fairly easily if you bother thinking about the data presented. Its case by case, but I suspect in many such cases contradictions of this sort are not a result of incompetence, but of a desire to get the truth out in the only way currently allowed. Our understanding of the world would be so much better if “intelligence” got what they deserved.

If peer review is anything other than “we independently replicated the experiment and confirmed its validity” then it’s only possible value is gatekeeping.
The term “replication crisis” is thrown around a lot. Especially in psychology and biology. FMRI studies especially in the later case. It basically works that the first layer are the editors at the journals take a look, but they send it to other people working in the same area or very close and ask for comments. If they get comments saying they didn’t like this or that, then this feedback gets sent to the researcher and they can get supplementary data, or change the wording, or whatever. Of course, besides gatekeeping this also provides for petty animosities to cause passive aggressive reviewing for groups you don’t like or who you don’t want to do better than you. Or who you can keep in limbo until you can steal their experiment and publish on it first, thus taking the credit. Not sure how much that last bit happens, but I do know different labs can get pretty competitive to discover whatever before the other guy.
For the most part, no one wants to do exact replications because you don’t get any prestige unless you discover something novel. Understandably, no one wants to waste a year or more working on something that is basically guaranteed not to help their career. So most things aren’t ever directly replicated.
The journals should pay scientists to do exact replication.

The ladder to IT is about six months, with certificates, provided you work at it. It’s online classes. You need a computer with an online connection. 95% of all libraries in America have online connections. I want to say these can be the fastest connections in any given town. A ton of jobs are online, so you don’t need to move away from your mother’s basement, as the insult goes.
For Microsoft, use Mike Girvins Excel series on Youtube. You can download his class notes to go along with his lectures. Then you test for a certificate. When you have questions about his lectures, Youtube has other lecturers. Indian tech training lectures are fantastically detailed. Stop, rewind, take notes, test yourself. For me, ten minutes of any Indian tech lecture takes a day to learn. It’s that dense, and they talk that fast. I’ll need supplementary videos to help understand the contents.
For tech, Professor James Messer. Reddit will have people going through his lectures. There are blogs about how to power through and earn certificates. They recommend specific study guides, notes, test taking strategies, skillsets.
At the end of these certificates are jobs that pay over $50,000/ year. Six months from fry cook to IT tech making over $50k/year jobs.
MIT puts up all of their tech lectures. A very bright high schooler taught himself enough computer programming and robot engineering to win awards.
Some states have a law apprenticeship. This is what Kim Kardashian is doing, quite publicly. It takes more time, and less money. You are working while studying.
There are a few art ateliers teaching traditional art techniques. We need artists.
The way to rock and roll is ear training- a few basic lessons, then playing by ear- records slowed down and copied, until mastered. Writing the songs down is for more classically trained musicians. Classical programs are at every state school, and most religious schools, plus the more well known conservatories.
If you choose a state school or a small, private school, keep in touch with the good people you meet. Help your classmates. The “network effect” isn’t just Harvard magic. You can build a network of people you know, and work well with, as easily as anyone at an Ivy League school. Re the high levels of respiratory illness – got hit with it like a freight train the day after Thanksgiving, assumed flu since my COVID was negative. At 72 hours in, I thought maybe it was strep based on my throat so I went to urgent care. But it was influenza A, strep was negative. I’m glad I went though, as I’d already developed pneumonia for the first time in my life, as well as a secondary sinus infection (probably the worst one I’ve ever had). Much like when I had mild COVID, I noticed significant mental/emotional changes along with this. I hope all commenters here stay safe and healthy.
I got hit a couple of weeks ago: it started as a serious sinus infection which I got rid of in two days using a mixture of herbs; then, I developed drainage from my sinuses into my lungs and a cough and congestion; at that, I used NAC and nettle tea: the NAC removed the cough and congestion; the nettle tea being an astringent dried up the drainage. The NAC was used every time I developed a cough; the tea every time I developed a runny nose.It pays to know about herbs.

Every school benefits from good teachers. Right now, in lower class schools, male teachers are the only father figure around. There’s at least one elementary I know of that preferred hiring military veterans, even working with reserve military- one year here, one year on duty elsewhere- to provide a ‘backbone’ for the school. Zero discipline problems. When a new principal only hired females, the discipline problems skyrocketed. Let me emphasize: the focus doesn’t need to be just on the young boys who were going to fail. The lowest SES majority white school district has boys scoring higher on the SAT at 14, than urban minority youths in the highest SES schools. You won’t be saving just the future criminals, but also the future brilliant men of your town. I can tell you that children went from living their entire life in the housing projects near this school to high honors, advanced degrees, and good jobs.
Teachers get paid, pensions and good insurance. State bureaucrats get decent pay and good benefits, enough to raise a family.

I never did a dedicated page on it as I could not get the video, and they just mentioned it in passing. In one episode, the funny Irish guy with the white hair was paired off with someone else as they hunted a pedophile. THey tracked him to a Maraschino cherry factory, and set up on it, and when they did, another car came up and was driving all around them, as they said to each other, “What is this guy doing.” He ended up parking in front of them and sitting there, pointing something back to listen to their conversation, in their car. My impression was that factory was being used for something, maybe even a Pollo Hermano situation, where they were shipping a product with the cherries to mask the smell, and the surveillance saw LE setting up on the bottling facility and came in to eavesdrop to figure out what they were doing. When the guy in the car heard they were after a fugitive in the place, and they were going to go in, he sped up and went in himself ahead of them, I think to either make sure their suspect was not inside, or get him out and make sure the manager said he went home early, so the Marshals would not begin going through the factory.
It may have been the same episode, but the big older NY transit cop was in a van. When he first pulled up and got in for a stakeout, there was nobody around, and within minutes, there were people everywhere. He was looking out a window through curtains, and made a big thing to the camera about how, “Wow, look at how this whole place heated up,” and the camera made it a point to film the walkers and bikers and dog walkers, and all the people, and I got the impression he knew what all that was, and both cases, the big deals they made about it was a fuck you to the surveillance, by drawing attention to it on a TV show. If it was Law Enforcement, they would have recognized it, and no way they would have made any comment in either case. I took it as a sign of hostility.

I didn’t take Peterson’s comments as any kind of a veiled threat, and I didn’t even think he was talking about suicide. My take from his tweet was that he felt Kanye was on a self-destructive track. Which, of course, he is.
Furthermore, I’m not sure why many people have it out for Jordan Peterson. I cannot think of a single individual who has more persuasively and effectively argued against numerous Cabal social engineering pushes. Apparently cabal found him to be such a threat that he had to find medical treatment in Russia. If he was cabal, that entire episode never would have happened. But it’s very, very much like Cabal to insert a trusted health care practitioner in your life, assure you that some medication works, and for it to produce terrible side effects and withdrawals.

Peterson’s entire claim to prominence was his Bible coverage series. He himself has admitted he never read the entirety of the Bible, so how could he possibly understand the intricacies enough to educate others?
When you catch one lie or deception the entire source becomes suspect and requires extraordinary correction to re-earn trust. Since this lie he has doubled down on tolerating trannies imposing pronoun war on humans, banning speech that he deems “dangerous,” he’s been to a rehab clinic for meth addiction, etc. He broke trust and never even tried to earn it back, labeling him in the classic gatekeeper midwit landfill.
It feels like a new turning. A destruction of the old order and beginning of a new elite which will pretend to be much different to the old elite.
In the end alot more people are going to die before the new elites take full control. The mistake is to think that because of the evil like the mrna vaccine that the new leaders (of the Light world order as opposes to the Dark world order) will be righteous. Only Jesus Christ is righteous.
The light world order will bring solution to things like blood clots and cancer but the solution will be probably end up being either injecting new tech into the body or operating on the body to change it. It will look to many like a new Golden Age bringing about more change. Like the end of World Wars of the 20th century that brought down the Kingdoms of the old world and brought in the new Liberal USA West and Soviet Union.

No. Elon Musk is apart of the light world order which if you read his stuff that is what he wants humans to become.
It is an opportunity for whatever truly good people with some power there are to make good changes.
How much they will succeed vs. the fake light side remains to be seen.
But we will not destroy evil and bring heaven on earth, that will require Divine intervention in GOD’s own time.

I2P is most excellent. With it you can make your own encrypted hidden web site. The server is built right in and to use it you turn it on and then add files to the location it’s set for. So no website or server fees. It’s free. The Domain Name Server is distributed so there is no set place to watch. Web sites are within the system. You go through three encrypted hops to a site and three different back. Hard to crack. Built in, as mentioned, is a torrent system also encrypted the same way. It’s possible I may download a lot of movies and shows from it but I would never really say that I did.
It also has a way to access the regular web through a proxy someone set up. The same proxy can reach Tor sites.
I think the best way to use it is to download a portable Firefox and then set it up to be the browser you use only for that.

Tesla semi-truck. Some points on video. In five years the total price of the truck would be paid for on just energy savings alone vs. diesel fuel. The diesel truck, which has little value in five years, would cost the truck plus enough in fuel to buy and fuel a Tesla truck. So $60,000 to $80,000 a year in savings. Likely these figures are a little better than reality, but maybe not. They’re not based on Goldilocks fake figures. Musk goal is to power the trucks by solar so he will be a huge energy company. From present large solar installation grid bids per KW I posted earlier, he could make large profits at the rates they are using to sell power to truckers. $0.10 KW/hr.

So trucking appears be a back door to jump start this energy shift as it’s a large market of energy usage.
So far I think that he really does mean full charge of a truck in 30 minutes. They are using two 1 Megawatts charging cables to charge. He already has built the battery storage units for this in Australia so he knows how to build these to store power from low demand grid times to charge trucks. Large truck stops would be a great place to build solar. Already there and already set up for truckers. Add solar and lots of chargers…done.

This is a couple of the big ones. A huge one is Pilot-Flying J but it is being bought out by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway so I don’t know the figures. Musk should have bought truck stops instead of twitter.
Back up on that assumption. A Sleeper truck sells for $70-150K, and five year old models right now are selling for $50-70 used. They keep a LOT of value, especially because they all have good records and timely maintenance (required by the DOT.) A Class 10 semis usually have a commercial OTR life of 20-25 years.
My mistake. Though, I’m not completely wrong. For large companies, my understanding is that after five years they get new trucks. For “them” they have less value. But point taken, I goofed that.
Probably true because of the manufacturer warranty. I don’t doubt it. Also, most of those 5 yo trucks listed were rental fleets, so that is consistent. It just means they aren’t worthless when they sell them.
