The police will never be able to effectively fight gangs in the same way a traditional military will never be able to effectively fight insurgencies: when you have rules of engagement and your enemy doesn’t, you lose, every time. There’s also the factors of small, decentralized command systems being more agile than huge systems, as well as “local” elements being more easily sustained and replenished than outsider elements.
The only way to truly stomp out hostile action is with unrestricted war to the knife. If there’s even 1% doubt or hesitation that your effective action will be punished by your own team, the enemy has the advantage, and will use your own rules to pick away at you over time.
It is worse than that right now though. The entire thing is due to Cabal.
I’ve seen a whole massive area where gangs operated declared under a surveillance flag, banning all Police from the area unless they could get permission from the fedguv/intel/surveillance beforehand. Local PD ran undercover gang cops in there anyway, and one got caught alone and almost died because he couldn’t just put out a call for backup and have all the patrols in the area come to help. I wondered at the time if surveillance teamed up with the gangs to set that up as a warning to the cops to get out. Meanwhile whatever fed agency the surveillance/Intel operation compromised to have it take control of the area did nothing about the gangs until Trump came in, at which point it came out just how freely they were operating there, even attacking innocent civilians, all as everything was passively watched and documented by surveillance.
I was totally unsurprised about the story about Seth Rich’s murder, where a DEA Agent used MS-13 who he was running as agents, to execute the robbery/assassination. They were keeping MS-13 operational and above the law for some reason.
This thing has permeated and taken control of everything, from the local Rotary club to the Cartels. It sounds insane, but it is an intelligence operation, whose entire mission objective is penetrating and taking over power structures. It’s very pretty. I’ll bet it works fine. Interesting though, that the Russians haven’t joined in the caliber-swap this time around. It’s much more inline with my own thinking, more less we’ve reached the point of diminishing returns where what is already being used and the new super geewhiz wonder cartridge are so close in terms of real performance that there is no reason go to the logistical nightmare needed to switch over.
Seriously, if the US military changes NONE of the cartridges currently being fielded it will be fine until chemical propellant firearms are obsolete. Alternatively, swapping out everything 7.62 NATO for off the shelf 6.5 Creedmore would be just fine. Little lighter ammo, flatter trajectory for literally just a barrel swap. That would only affect the machine guns and the snipers/DMRs.
In the 1950s the Army did extensive evaluation of a .60 caliber replacement for the .50 BMG. The .60 was superior to the .50 in almost every way… but not superior *enough* to make it worth changing. Interestingly, the Soviets had gone through the same evaluation process, which had resulted in the very similar 14.5x114mm, which they actually adopted.

A few hours ago, a 128GB data leak of Twitch was released online. This leak includes data such as “source code with comments for the website and various console/phone versions, references to an unreleased steam competitor, streamer payouts, encrypted passwords, etc.”

Grabbed Vapor, the codename for Amazon’s Steam competitor. Seems to intigrate most of Twitch’s features as well as a bunch of game specific support like fortnite and pubg. Also includes some Unity code for a game called Vapeworld, which I assume is some sort of VR chat thing. [3]
Some Vapeworld assets, including some 3d emotes with specular and albedo maps I don’t have whatever version of unity installed that they used, so I’m limited in what assets i can get caps of with stuff like blener and renderdoc. There’s custom unity plugins in here for devs too. [4]

I’m sure she’s a million times smarter than me but rambles all over the place. I listened to 30 minutes of her saying “she would explain” where she did not, fast forwarded another few times where she seemed to still be rambling and gave up.
Eventually I’ll find someone who has put together two or three graphs that explain what she is saying and I won’t have to listen to two hours of rambling.
