There are more cellular phones in Britain than people, so the chances any random person is carrying a phone is very high. They can easily match the face to the phone via tower location, GPS location, and Bluetooth triangulation.
It hardly seems worthwhile to deploy facial recognition with so much phone data available… unless they’re starting to worry about spoofed phone IDs, or even crazies wandering around with no phone at all. Anyone without a phone would be likely to be either a criminal or a threat to the system, the way British security would view it.

Let’s see… my wife’s phone, three or four old phones she hasn’t thrown away yet, two old phones I haven’t thrown away yet, one phone Verizon won’t talk to any more, that I use as a tablet, four tablet computers, three laptops, four desktops, a Pi Hole, several spare Pi 3s and Pi Zeros intended for various projects, and three T95 boxes, which are Pi-ish with more horsepower.
Over 2000 CDs and DVDs of archival storage, half a dozen external USB or eSATA hard drives used for backups, and maybe a dozen USB thumb drives, and half a dozen micro-SD cards for various OSs for the Pis and T95s.
My wife and I both have MP3 players, which are technically computers, but all they do is play audio files. I’ll include those anyway.
That’s a lot of DVDs and weird single-board computers, but other than that, probably pretty average. Most people have old phones and computers laying around; it’s easy for that kind of stuff to collect if you’re not rigorous about getting rid of junk.
It is absolutely not the norm to 65 phones PLUS a shit load of other such devices in your home. Why lie about that?

The Union State of Russia and Belarus only has two members, and Belarus is just a speck compared to Russia.
Letting Belarus abstain from sending troops would be a good propaganda measure; “Look, Belarus may be tiny, but they’re an equal partner, and can’t be forced to go along with Russian foreign policy.”
The new propaganda line is probably going to be something like “Belarus will now be supporting its equal partner in the Union State.”
It could also be that Russia expects to wind the Ukraine thing up quickly, like within the next 71 days. That would be November 5. Belarus might want to be seen as “doing something” in the war, and perhaps even bite off a chunk of Ukrainian territory for themselves.
While we are in a political struggle, this is part of a much more important spiritual struggle. I usually comment just on the politics, but two bloggers I follow posted worthwhile comments on the spiritual part.

Its hard to summarize, and I wasn’t going to try, but then I skimmed through the comments and discovered that all the commentators completely missed the point. The blog post seemed pretty clear to me, so I don’t know what caused the disconnect.
My own interpretation is that once the great material gains of the industrial revolution started to be dispersed among the masses, after the second world war, the masses and elites started worshiping the industrial revolution itself and its products as a sort of god.
This happened with both the “right” and the “left”, among the masses and the elites, and in all “developed” counties, not just the USA. Many people kept the forms of worship of Christianity, and some the piety, but discarded or even opposed the spiritual and philosophical content.
