Saw a Mark Lowry show recently with a church group – mostly retirees age group. I had never heard of him, & found his comedy patter interesting. While it was well received & it was entertaining 3 things stuck out for me (as someone who has learned to be skeptical of everything thanks to AC’s site & just living in this current age.)
Lowry is a comedian, singer songwriter with a long career going back to the 90s. He is part of the circuit of Gaither family style bluegrass gospel singers that perform regularly across the country to older bible belt audiences (mostly white).
1. Most of his comedy is based in everyday things of life & what he’s experiencing – so it was about the inconveniences of growing older & deterioration of the body (he was overweight & blamed it on the pandemic lockdown – but Tx never really locked down).
2. Reaffirmation of faith in Jesus & how great it will be to get to heaven. I lost track of how many times he riffed on how great it will be to check out of this world & be in heaven. The audience was 99% over 65. It seemed weird to me how many times it was brought up.
3. He told a story how he had an accident in Houston off his Silver Wings electric bike & he wasn’t wearing a helmet. His leg was broken badly & the ambulance was delayed. (This story told me he lives there). Some Mexican dayworkers nearby came & helped carry him off the road. He deliberately described them as “those good Samaritans, with their beautiful brown arms, carried me”. He deliberately slowed his speech here to emphasize this.
4. Later he got back to riffing on how good it is to believe in God & know you’ll go to heaven & briefly mentioned politics – only to dismiss it as not worth your time.
My normie church friends loved the show & yes he was entertaining. But I can’t overlook the constant messaging to look forward to death & not worry about the state of the country. I can’t say if he is simply projecting his own mindset onto his audiences or whether there is something else going on.

I can’t tell you how disappointing it was to experience the complete apathy of the fundamentalist churches here in our corner of the Bible Belt when we recently ran school board candidates against the surprisingly “woke” incumbents. Pastors refused to meet with campaigners and wouldn’t even allow something as innocuous as basic voter registration drives to take place on the grounds of their massive and expensive churches.
(Our County Republican chairman stated that nationwide an estimated 15-18 million Christians are not even registered to vote.)
There seems to be an overall attitude of “Let Jesus do it” among the fervent Protestants of the South, even when the issue is one of porn and perversion in the public schools. I thought the answer was just apathy combined with naivete, but maybe this is a psyop, with handsome youngish preachers in their business casual outfits manipulating their faithful flocks. I will definitely keep an eye out for this.

It smells of the black churches holding them with the expectation everyone is going to register Dem. The pastor can remind ppl of their civic duties but that’s should be as far as it goes. That would be the same facial recognition software that’s so inaccurate that even various legislatures have ruled the police can’t use it. Mostly, the same legislatures that think police drug test kits that are wrong 40% of the time are just fine.
I think it’s more of a “is that a human face?” tracker than a targeting system for specific people. The concept being to let a swarm loose on an area with open ROE and only enemy combatants and they just dive bomb any human in the zone without hesitation.
Like I posted, the FPV drones in current use in Gaza and Ukraine are being piloted by people, and that’s actually a bit scarier because a person can still make target of opportunity judgments better that any AI, and prioritize targets based on loadout rather than something like facial features.

Suicide rates for porn actresses has always been very high. Also, according to an acquaintance who was in “the adult film industry” for a while, drug use is very high.
