This has it all. K-selection, resource restriction, racism among migrants, and funny-as-hell irony. But one thing stands out – each migrant wants free resources, even as they try to screw each other and get their compatriots sent home.
Notice how r-strategists are like perfectly programmed robots, designed to flee to a new land, preferentially favor the out-group they are trying to infiltrate so as to ingratiate themselves – and as they do that, they are programmed to also covertly stab any other r-strategists from their homeland who accompanied them, in the back.
This is why we can’t clearly see the adaptive aspects of their in-group hatred, out-group-openess, and reflexive betrayal. The problem is we are observing domestic r-strategists which have no land richer in resources to migrate to. If you yourself migrated to a wealthy Middle Eastern nation along with some leftist pussy, they would quickly ingratiate themselves with the sheiks, turn the sheiks on you, get you killed or expelled, and then integrate seamlessly into the Arab culture happily, due to their love of foreign culture.

I may have missed it from the book, but how does this fit in with declining fertility rates in developed countries? I first thought it might be birth control, but the effect of wealth leading to less offspring was observed in the 1920s. r/K would predict more resources leads to more promiscuity and offspring, right?
That aspect of r/K breaks down in humans due to the knowledge of how babies arise. If we were like dogs, who probably do not connect the sexual act with the offspring which magically appear months later, that would be different and r/K would work exactly as in nature, but here a little knowledge and ability to structure life events upsets that.
The issue is knowing how babies are made, and how to avoid them. Conservatives actually prefer the smell of babies to the smell of coffee, compared to liberals who favor the smell of coffee more than babies. I suspect someone like Palin or Melania views a baby similar to how a child views a puppy. A liberal views a baby more like a court-ordered child support payment to a divorced spouse. Once you add an r-strategist’s desire to not raise children to the ability to consciously avoid it, you will have declining birth rates when r is ascendant.
Given the conscious ability to decide to have a child or not, and the ability to acquire sexual satisfaction regardless, I view declining birthrates as simply a reduction in desire to rear. It is mostly detached from sexual drive, except as IQ’s decline to the point where people really are too stupid to control it.

A decline in fertlity (or increase in mortality) might suggest the approach of the carrying capacity.
You won’t really find it on wikipedia (quelle surprise) but what you describe is well known in academic circles as the drawbridge effect. Briefly, the immigrants who slogged to make a life somewhere peaceful, a brown version of white flight, will oppose and pull up the drawbridge to the later entrants, usually lower IQ and everything that entails. At the very least, they ask for higher fiscal standards, to preserve their own position. Reminds me of a study a while back confirming how second-gen immigrants were more extreme (terrorist) than their parents, who remembered the s-hole they came from. Blood will out. This is why I think Chinese are the most dangerous form of American and Brit immigrant – they will align and direct the others who would otherwise scatter.
So is any migrant to Western Europe not K-selected? Even if they are working in K-requiring jobs and do not live off welfare?
