Mark Cuban on Donald Trump’s appeal.
I don’t care what his actual positions are. I don’t care if he says the wrong thing. He says what’s on his mind. He gives honest answers rather than prepared answers. This is more important than anything any candidate has done in years.
It goes a little deeper, though. People are angry. They want to see somebody angry who will represent them, and attack their enemies. Since they view all of Washington as their enemies, every time Donald says something that outrages Washington, the people who like him cheer, and his support strengthens.
Donald is making it OK to rage against Washington. He is teaching people’s amygdalae that the anger can morph into satisfaction, if you ignore the vitriol the media will throw at you. He is showing that the leftist media is a paper tiger, who cannot even begin to affect your popularity, if only you will ignore them.
He is also showing those who may want to run for office in the future, that the path to victory involves attacking the establishment as corrupt, ignoring decorum, being as blunt and aggressive as possible, and not backing down.
Because K-selection is so close, and people want blood, Trump’s candidacy will reverberate throughout future elections. That is a good thing, and it is reason enough alone to support him.
