Antibiotic resistance has caused a fall in life expectancy for the first time, the Office for National Statistics has said.
Life expectancy in future years has been revised down after the statistics authority said that “less optimistic views” about the future had to be taken into account.
Opinions on “improvements in medical science” had declined, it said, and fears of the “re-emergence of existing diseases and increases in anti-microbial resistance” meant people would not live as long as was previously expected…
This “cohort” life expectancy measure is seen as the best measure of life expectancy as it takes into account expected future medical advances and changes in society.
The ONS said it had also reduced “period” life expectancy – which assumes that the current conditions remain the same – because more people than expected died in the past two years.
Sophie Sanders, of its population statistics division, said: “Improvements in life expectancy in the 2016-based projections are slightly lower than those projected in the 2014-based projections.
“This has been driven by higher mortality rates in 2015 and 2016 than were projected in the 2014-based projections and lower rates of mortality improvement at older ages over the first 25 years of the projections.”
And this is before the big one hits.
Seems you could have substituted “importing lots of diseased foreigners” for “antibiotic resistance” and it would make just as much sense. My guess is those migrants are bringing a lot of nasty diseases acclimated to weak medicines overseas into Europe.
Still interesting there is an uptick on the mortality curve, and we are seeing an uptick in right-leaning ideology. Just as the Conservative Policy Mood parallels the Misery Index, so too will mortality, probably even more closely.
One thing I am curious about going forward is, how much death will we have to be exposed to, and for how long, before real K kicks in. I can see someone losing one child due to this, and still not being driven enough to hoist the black flag and raid parliament with pitchforks and torches, though Nigel Farage might begin to look more likable. By the seventh or eighth family member to die, I could see the same person sighting in their sniper rifle, and being ready to effect change regardless the cost. Where in there is the turning point where leftism becomes completely repugnant and leftists are forced to hide?
Just as sexual mores began to revert earlier than I would have expected, it is possible a sudden changeover on leftism and immigration may come faster and more suddenly than we would think possible.

That amygdala-linkage is critical, so each death transfers its rage upon the left. Every rape, murder, and crime should be making individuals enraged ever more at the left, as well as the migrants.

The English are a bastardized Peasant Race and their nature won’t ever change. The British Empire is an army of slaves lead by very capable and virtues but also cunning rulers. Peasant revolts always failed. Now their Soldiers get hacked to death in the streets, the cops get stabbed, the people run over with cars and they still hand over hidden Guns when there is an amnesty. And i don’t want any K to set in with them. What it needs is another Saxon- or Viking Invasion of this Island, if we could find any Saxons or Vikings, and then it would be nice if antibiotic resistance micro organism would have thin the herd out.
