Let The Real K-Selection Begin – Anti Aging Pill Coming

This will produce real K-selection:

Scientists have made a discovery that could lead to a revolutionary drug that actually reverses ageing.

The drug could help damaged DNA to miraculously repair and even protect Nasa astronauts on Mars by protecting them from solar radiation.

A team of researchers developed the drug after discovering a key signalling process in DNA repair and cell ageing.

During trials on mice, the team found that the drug directly repaired DNA damage caused by radiation exposure or old age.

‘The cells of the old mice were indistinguishable from the young mice after just one week of treatment,’ said lead author Professor David Sinclair.

Human trials of the pill will begin within six months.

The smart money says this probably won’t have anything more than a minimal effect. But aging is a biological process with a distinct underlying mechanism, and it will eventually be delayed, stopped, and reversed. That means populations will either quickly overpopulate, or K will have to have its effects. Somewhere there are probably alien civilizations that have already conquered aging, and the only way they can persist in organized fashion is by embracing aggressive K-selection.

The ramifications are interesting to contemplate, because we grow more K with age and experience. That means an increasingly large K-population of older, wealthier, more powerful, more experienced individuals, and a younger population of more r-individuals who are probably enduring the bulk of the mortality as they fight to try and become one of the older generation.

My guess is a minority of the older generation will either be r or go r in response to their increased power and wealth. That population will seek to leverage the younger r’s against the older K-generation, and the music of our present cycles of civilizations will play on.

But over time, this may make it more likely that the established, older K-generation will finally realize they cannot live with the r’s, and that something will need to be done. My assumption is any alien civilization that is around long enough will, sooner or later, take measures to stop the r-strategists from intermittently destroying their civilizations.

Tell others about r/K Theory, because if everyone lives forever, we will have to tell a lot of people

We’re gettign there. Still waiting on human trials of rapamycin (https://www.age.mpg.de/healthy-ageing/research-stories/rapamycin-the-first-drug-to-extend-lifespan-from-yeast-to-mammals/). Mice have shown a 60% increase in lifespan, but the drug appears to increase the risk of diabetes in mammals.

Would anti aging mean people will feel like they can waste time? I mean to me it is like the pill. We don’t know the full effects of this drug if and when it hits the market. Yes people learn as they get older but I can say from my experience it is not just what you see but what you feel when you get older. You often get weaker and loss energy, also your hormones change. Men get less testosterone and women less estrogen. This makes someone less aggressive, more humble, desire sex lesser, more conservative and think of the younger generations over yourself. So I am mean it would be interesting but I think it might not be the result of more K but r especially in women.
Just like how the pill a loud women to have much more sex with the result of kids and drugs to either kill diseases or stop from dying mean even more sex. The anti aging might lead to say r women to continue on a path of more sex with younger men turning them r. Since women’s looks is more important to a men this drug would help them. But at the same time elite men who are r will live longer to spend more time having sex with women (thus turning them r) pulling off as if they are not 60, think charlie sheen.

I say this I due to knowing some women who did not age as fast and still manage to look 20 at 30. They often don’t grow in person until they reach their 40s and realize men are not chasing them and needed to be better a person.

“At age 20, we worry about what others think of us. At age 40, we don’t care what they think of us. At age 60, we discover they haven’t been thinking of us at all.” Ann Landers (1918-2002)

I was gonna say something about aged evil cryptkeepers like Rockefeller and Soros living even longer, but they likely already have access to these sorts of things.

Aging is not biological. There is a physical process known as “entropy” that gradually reduces any complex, highly-structured object to a pile of dust. Healing is a biological process. The gap between the last two, i.e. the entropic damage that healing cannot repair, is known as “aging”. More healing doesn’t solve this problem, for healing must be precisely regulated to produce the correct numbers of each cell type exactly where they’re needed. Thus every organ eventually sprouts tumors or becomes a useless mass of scar tissue.

Car repair shops can, for the right price, patch any hole and replace any worn-out part with a brand new one from a factory or machine shop. All cars are potentially immortal, but those not lucky enough to be considered “antique” or “classic” are eventually left in a junkyard and replaced with a new car.

Every part of your body is theoretically replaceable except one. The best possible anti-aging outcome would be for us all to go senile and become strong, healthy vegetables at some age between 70 and 110. About a quarter of us will achieve that anyway by not dying of cancer or organ failure.

As for uploading your brain into a computer and running it there, or 3-D printing a new brain from that image, it then gets really hard to even define words like “human” and “life”.

Re the entropy: EVERY living thing, as long as it lives, sheds entropy into the environment to stabilize itself. You can DEFINE life by this ability. Your body is a standing matter wave. Every atom in your body is replaced after 7 years. The fact that you are alife is IDENTICAL with the ability to constantly rebuild your body.

That’s why simply saying, aging is the buildup of entropy, is too simple. You MUST be able to shed practically all the entropy you produce in order to be alife.

Could this not guarantee r selection?

In my observations of academics/’Slebs/norms/almost everyone.. excess resources almost always leads to r selected behaviours.

Breaking the rules….easily… without struggle..

This is death to K’s I fear.
