… the resolve and passion of students, many of whom had made their way over from the Bernie Sanders campaign, gave me a sense of hope that got me downright high. I didn’t see how with faces this bright, diverse, wise, and passionate anything but the best — the only — result could prevail.
The three hours I spent at the Javits Center Tuesday night, surrounded by campaign staffers and fellow surrogates for Hillary Clinton, are blurred and spotty. At a certain point it became clear something had gone horribly wrong. Celebrants’ faces turned. The modeling had been incorrect. Watching the numbers in Florida, I touched my face and realized I was crying. “Can we please go home?” I said to my boyfriend. I could tell he was having trouble breathing, and I could feel my chin breaking into hives. Another woman showed me her matching hive, hidden by fresh concealer.
I hugged the women I had spent eighteen months with, laughing and plotting and spreading our love for Hillary Clinton and her message. My party dress felt tight and itchy.
This is rabbit normalcy.
“Oh, My God! Look at us, we are breaking out in the exact same hives! … Whoops! … Wait a minute, I’m about to black out! … Hang on… Nope, false alarm! I already blacked out ten minutes ago and woke up in the broom closet. It would have been weird if it happened a second time.”
The instantaneous hives are a bit of a mystery, though apparently they are common enough that rabbits recognize them in each other, and use them for social bonding. The only thing I can think of is the activation of the sympathetic nervous system triggers peristaltic contractions and gastrointestinal motility, which stirs up material located in the more internal lumen of the GI tract, exposing it to the GI membrane and releasing some immunogenic microbiological material that crosses over into the blood, triggering the immune response.
It would be interesting if liberals, with their reduced disgust, expose themselves to so many microbes that they have a GI microbiome that is so toxic that even minor excitement causes them to erupt in hives. It might be another good reason to keep your distance from the hippies. There, there be monsters.
By the time we’d made it over the bridge, a friend called. “It’s over,” she said. “I love you.” I was frozen. We stopped at the diner. No one was speaking as they ate, no one in the whole place.
At home I got in the shower and began to cry even harder. My boyfriend, who had already wept, watched me as I mumbled incoherently, clutching myself. “It wasn’t supposed to go this way. It was supposed to be her job. She worked her whole life for the job. It’s her job.”
The bane of being acclimated to free resource availability. Everything belongs to you.
Very fun to acquire, not so fun to live with in the world of reality.
Regarding hives, someone on TBP suggested that it’s rabbit speak for “Pretend these aren’t herpes for me and feed me posfeelz”.

[Is chronic recurrent urticaria a psychosomatic disease?].
[Article in German]

Abstract
A random group of 37 patients with chronic recurrent urticaria, 26 female and 11 male, was subjected to multidimensional personality tests (Freiburg personality inventory, FPI, Freiburg aggression test, FAF) whereas, deviating from establishing standards, introversion, nervousness, psychosomatic disturbance were more pronounced in the urticaria group, the following traits in deviation from normal standards were not noted: depression, irritability, sociability, emotional instability, composure. Nevertheless, this group appeared to be less communicative, more inhibited, compliant, and less dominant and aggressive. Neither did they show signs of socially accepted expression of negative and annoyed emotions nor socially desirable signs of assertiveness. A high rate of coincidence with other psychosomatic disorders such as frequent headache (18/37), chronic gastritis (19 of 37) and ulcus duodeni (5 of 37) and migraineous headache (6 of 37) was also found in this group. In all cases explorable latent conflictive situations (frequent ambivalence) and negative childhood experience are further indicative of psychosomatic diseases.
Her boyfriend had “already wept”.
And thats all we need to know. Ahahhahahahahhaha. Oh that feels sooooo good.
You are right AC, if even this makes so many of us feel relief…
You can’t believe a thing she said in that paragraph.
I mean, “I told my boyfriend!”
As if anyone would ever believe this thing would ever have one of those.
…Well, maybe except the part about her dress being tight… That we can believe.
God damn, she has a boyfriend! A weeping boyfriend.
