According to the Independent, some volunteers believe sexual relationships between aid workers and refugees is ‘natural’ while others believe it breaks the ‘usual codes of conduct’.
Females travel to a novel area, and proceed to seek out underage males, oftimes mating with multiple partners per day. Imagine how this played out in the ancient past, without birth control or abortion. These girls would churn out a stream of offspring, designed themselves to mate early in life with many different partners, producing as many offspring as possible as quickly as possible, starting as early as possible. If resources were suddenly free, you would have a cascade of r-strategists filling a population’s ranks.
You know these girls would support gun control, support social welfare, oppose war, not marry monogamously, not invest heavily in a child with a monogamous partner, and just generally break leftward on all issues of politics, due to an innate perception that resources should be freely available, and there is no reason they should not be.
That is the rabbit’s r-selected reproductive strategy, displayed in humans.
Notice also, under conditions like those in Venezuela, these are the single moms who would bring their starving children in, due to being totally unable to provide for them. These are not women singed to produce children that will thrive in the sparse resource environment of K-selection.
