California Governor Jerry Brown referred to taxpayers as “freeloaders” last week for objecting to his new gas tax and car fee hikes.
“The freeloaders — I’ve had enough of them … They have a president that doesn’t tell the truth and they’re following suit,” he said. Brown was speaking in Orange County, defending State Assembly newcomer Josh Newman (D-Fullerton), who is facing a recall effort after voting for Brown’s new transportation taxes in April.
Your reflexive response is to think he is lying and being phony. But he believes this.
A leftist is programmed to expect a world of free resources. So innate is the expectation that when one set of people has something, and another has nothing, they are programmed to view the person who has something as freeloading, and not doing their part to create the natural state of universal provisioning the leftist brain expects. They do not envision resources as coming from hard work, because they are designed to gather free resources in a world of plenty.
Viewed through that perceptual framework, Brown doesn’t see one person working hard and deserving their resources. He only sees a person without, whose denial of resources must be due to malfeasance by others who have hoarded the resources so not everybody can have some. This is a brain that literally lacks the circuitry to envision the world as it is during periods of K-selection. You cannot view the liberal leftist’s view of the world through your own eyes and your own brain.
The fun part will come when there are no resources. Then brains that cannot fathom a circumstance will be placed in an environment where they cannot construct anything even vaguely familiar. The mental meltdowns will make the post Trump protests look like perfect models of sanity and politeness.
[…] Jerry Brown Calls Tax-payers “Freeloaders” […]
I think it is deeper than that. I think that Brown has completely divorced in his mind — both on an intellectual but also an emotional level — the connection between government funds and taxpayers. To him it is emotionally free money. The method of earning, in his world, is securing government funding. He sees not collecting federal funds as leaving money on the table, and never connects it on any level to the people it was collected from.
It all comes down to identity. He literally identifies himself as a successful earner because of his ability to secure government funding. That’s what he thinks of as “creating.” As Scott Adams points out over and over, identity is our biggest driver in decision making. “What would the kind of person I think I am do?” (It’s also the power behind the Master Wizard qualities of r/K theory — once you identify yourself as a wolf, even if you are really a rabbit, you will start making decisions in a more K-like manner. Let’s face it, virtually no humans want to identify as a rabbit.)
The meltdowns will mostly be violent looting, rape and murder. Like a drug addict not getting their fix.
These people are so incompetent that they let a 2 million dollar spillway repair turn into a 20 million dollar fix if they would have made emergency, all sirens, fly in every helicopter they could find to fill the spillway hole…which they didn’t and now have a 500 million dollar no spillway at all disaster. I read that when this happened they were debating giving inland welfare users beach vacations so that they could relax on the beach. Now they say there’s a small leak in the dam. I assume they will let it wash away a few years from now instead of fixing it.
I also heard recently they were planning to buy millions of dollars worth of electric cars so welfare recipients could ride share around in them.
