A law prohibiting any kind of full-face covering, known popularly as the “Burqa Ban,” takes effect Sunday in Austria, where the strong support for it portends potential political upheaval in the upcoming national election.
Parties campaigning on an anti-migrant message are poised to win on Oct. 15 and to form a coalition government. Such a rightward swing in a country that’s had centrist governments almost consistently since World War II could have repercussions across Europe, emboldening politicians who take a hard line on Islam and immigration.
Last week, the right-wing, anti-migrant Alternative for Germany party won seats in Germany’s national parliament for the first time after featuring posters with the slogan “Burqas? We prefer bikinis” in its campaign.
The Austrian law — called “Prohibition for the Covering of the Face” — forbids off-slope ski masks, surgical masks outside hospitals and party masks in public. Violations carry a possible fine of 150 euros (nearly $180) and police are authorized to use force with people who resist showing their faces.

According to sources in the region, officials have been warning neighbourhoods and mosques that ethnic minority Muslim families are being forced to hand in religious items including the Koran and prayer mats.
They face severe punishment if they are discovered.
It is funny how r-selection twists perceptions. In America we almost can not imagine a brutal dictator ruling by force at the top. Who would carry out his orders? Why wouldn’t we all just ignore them?
And yet, human history is filled with brutal dictators taking power and ruling by force. We know how it could happen. We’ve seen the studies, where people are told to increase the shocks on test subjects, and continue to do it because authority told them to, even as they hear what they think are test subjects screaming in agony and being killed.
We know dictators have happened in the past. We see the mass graves they left behind. And yet we find such minor, and reasonable impositions of leadership like this as surprising.
The truth is, much more aggressive actions by government are actually the norm for our species. They will come back, all we are waiting on is the amygdala which will be produced by the Apocalypse.
Interesting about China. On the movie V for Vendetta England is rule by a facist government ban the Koran making it illegal to have. They also kick or kill any Jews, Muslim, atheists, homosexuals, and other “undesirables”.
Sounds much better than the arabic dystopian colony the UK is right now.
To be honest the way things are going in the west it can not end well.
If people wake now we can fix some of the damage but if it continues it will either ends like Spain of the 13th century or it ends like North Africa.

I personaly don’t like seeing liberal values getting sacrified to protect liberal values. The choice of clothing is the most visual expression for individualism and now the western governments restricts that because they imported aliens as cheap labour. Personaly i don’t see a problem with veiling, since most of the muslim females are unattractive types with the typical characteristics the western man associates with semitic traits like big hook noses, think eyebrowns and all that.
And the muslim females who are attractive, they wear yoga pants anyway. i see this actualy a lot where they wear a head scarf combined with some yoga pants and a tong line over their hips. I personaly thing its signaling that they want to get ravished by a guy who shows some bravery first by pulling off their ISIS fanclub scarf. God damn makes me so rapey every time i see it and now it makes me crazy remembering it.
