Fox News Settles With Gretchen Carlson

That was fast:

21st Century Fox will settle Gretchen Carlson’s sexual harassment lawsuit against former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, according to the company.

Vanity Fair reported that sources close to the situation said the media company will pay Carlson $20 million as well as offer a public apology. 21stCentury Fox will also settle two other sexual harassment cases brought against Ailes.

According to a document filed today in the United States District Court District of New Jersey, Gretchen Carlson voluntarily dismissed her case against Roger Ailes with prejudice on Tuesday.

Translation – she had tapes. The last time a Fox lawsuit went away this fast was when Bill O’Reilly was fixing to portray that girl on his staff as a delusional slut, and she whipped out her tapes of his phone conversations about all his sexual fantasies.

A familiarity with the intel game is useful, in that it teaches you that nobody plays fair, especially not the winners in these times. My guess is Ailes has tons of tape on any girl he could get it on, so he (or whoever controls him) could control them, and Gretchen just played the game better than him.

If you are going to play the game someday yourself, play dirty, and never forget the power of documenting everything with an eye to blackmailing later. When everybody is dirty, the power to expose is the only currency that matters. The tools, covert video, covert audio, and so on, are all available freely online, and they are very cheap these days. All you need is a devious mind.

I’ll bet that is what happened here, and clearly Getchen is walking away a very happy camper.
