It is easy to be judgmental, but it is more interesting to look at the evolutionary aspect:
The family of an EU official’s teenage daughter who was allegedly raped and murdered by an Afghan migrant in Germany has asked for well-wishers to donate money to a refugee charity.
Maria, 19, worked in her spare time in the ancient university city of Freiburg helping out the migrants in various shelters and homes. But in October, as she cycled home after a party, she was ambushed, raped and then drowned in a river.
This is preemptive conflict avoidance, through reflexive appeasement. Notice also there is no care about their daughter. Like deer, grazing around the bodies of dead baby deer, there is no long term trauma, or drive to act. There is only a compulsive need to seek to appease any potential threat and make clear that they do not want any conflict.
A deep caring for one’s young, and a drive to protect them no matter the cost, should be an evolved trait by our way of thinking. There is only one environment which actually favors a psychology that discards offspring shortly after birth and has no concern should they be killed.
You can see how a psychology that is actually programmed to not care about anything but seeking ease and avoiding any hardship would destroy its own civilization, as surely as night follows day.
Obviously nothing we see today should come as any surprise.
