You do not want to be on the opposite side of what Scott Adams calls the Master Persuader:
The subscription cancellations were coming every 10 minutes. Angry readers have been calling in droves. One caller issued a death threat.
“We’re feeling the weight of our history,” Phil Boas, the editorial page editor of The Arizona Republic, said in a telephone interview on Wednesday. Until it endorsed Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, the newspaper, founded in 1890, had never endorsed a Democrat over a Republican for president.
The Cincinnati Enquirer, which endorsed Mrs. Clinton last week, put it particularly bluntly: “Trump is a clear and present danger to our country.”
For some readers, however, the endorsements proved a step too far. “Certainly, we’ve paid a price for our presidential recommendation,” Mike Wilson, the editor of The Dallas Morning News, told Poynter this month.
Mr. Boas of The Arizona Republic said he expected “a lot of cancellations,” pointing to cancellations at The Cincinnati Enquirer, which like The Republic, is owned by Gannett.
It is hard to believe one man can take on the entire machine, using only persuasion. And yet, Donald is probably going to win, and when he does, and is a great President, all of these papers are going to look ridiculously stupid. It would have been nearly impossible for the entirety of the alt-right to rip down these establishment rag’s credibilities, the way one successful master persuader is going to.
It is very impressive. And good for freedom, since these papers owned by Gannet have one President of the Clinton Foundation on their board:
Donna E. Shalala is president of the Clinton Foundation. She previously served as president of the University of Miami, as secretary of Health and Human Services, and as a member of the board of directors of Gannett, which owns USA TODAY.
We already have much to thank Donald Trump for.

There’s another aspect of Scott’s theory that applies here. They’re not really mad about the endorsement. The endorsement is the excuse. The reality is that these people have been mad and unsatisfied for a long, long time. They’ve kept their subscriptions entirely on inertia, but they’ve been unhappy with it. Finally, an excuse comes along and justifies all the dissatisfaction they’ve been feeling, so they are now absolved from the uncertainty of unsubscribing.
I know, I’ve been there. I’m that way with MMO games. First the game won’t be as much fun as it once was, and then it will imperceptibly slip into Not Fun — but I’ll keep playing it, because I used to have fun with it and it’s habit. Then, the devs will do something demonstrably anti-player and stupid, and I’ll quit — but immediately after, I feel the relief that comes with realizing that I haven’t had fun on the game for a long, long time. (The other half of that is I rarely miss the game in its f-ed up current form after I realize that.)
The old media still thinks it’s operating on it’s old stomping grounds; they don’t realize the ground has moved and shifted beneath them, and they are now dancing at the edge of an abyss. Trump has come to us now, at the turn of the tide.
“Donna Sha-la-la”. The kosher effendi grew fat indeed while we goy waited upon them. It has been a blessing from almighty God that this internet thingy, and Mr. Trump came along in the nick of time to save our race and our faith. Your science and your blog are amazing sir: God Bless you.
Thank you.
Thanks for this bit of info about Donna Shalala. I’m from a media background and had no idea.
On a similar note, one of Hillary’s cronies, Lael Brainard, sits on the Federal Reserve. This is said to be a reason they left interest rated unchanged. They didn’t want to possibly jar the market and make the economy under Obama seem shaky for her. If Trump gets in, they may jack up interest rates with gusto to spite him. Investors need to keep this in the back of their mind.
