Every year I get an application for an absentee ballot in the mail. I believe it comes because either the party, or some party-affiliated GOTV program grabbed my name somewhere in the past, maybe from a contribution or even from the NRA. I have always felt good when I saw it because I have assumed that it represents thousands of additional Republican votes by voters who might otherwise not make the effort.
Thus far this year, I just realized I have not seen it. It was called to mind because of this discussion on Free Republic about possibly lower Republican absentee voter participation in Nevada:
Nevada Freepers: early voting has started and returns are listed at SecState’s website, but I know nothing about NV history/voting patterns—do Rs usually have an advantage in early voting? Ds?…
If I read this right it looks bad: it looks like in 2012 that there was a D+8 difference at this point, where there is a D+13 today. Am I reading this correctly?
Now there is speculation that this is due to not all counties having reported, so it will take a day or two to figure out if this is a harbinger of problems.
But then I thought I haven’t seen those absentee ballot applications.
Donald is reviled by the Establishment. I certainly hope his people are reviewing historical turnout operations in each state by all establishment-related organizations, and making sure that none of them have quietly terminated programs that contribute three of four percent to the Republican candidate in each election. At the very least, every NRA member, every pro-life person, and every contributor to various conservative causes and groups should have gotten an absentee ballot by now.
I would hate to see the Establishment pricks terminate Donald’s candidacy by slyly costing him a percentage or two in support by just not doing one or two of the many things I assume they do in every election, for every other corrupt establishment hack.

While we don’t know if this is happening in Nevada, and by the way the NRA will be really pissed if it is, due how important it is to stop Bloomberg’s extension of his initiative strategy in Washington state to strangle the creation of new gun owners, we have solid reports from, for example, Pennsylvania that the Get Out The Vote (GOTV) effort is being gimped to cost Trump the state. I’m kinda surprised you aren’t assuming this is the case, and instead looking for evidence it isn’t.
I believe it is going on, which is why I hope somebody who monitors these sites for Trump will add a bullet point to any Alt-right summary he passes up the chain.
Things changed after the presidential election in 2000. No doubt about that, things suddenly changed.
And I thought we in the UK followed the trends of the US…
….it was ’97 here, with Blair/NuLabour!
I’m in Pa and I never received a vote by mail application either.
Isn’t that slick. That could suppress overall Republican votes by a few percent, which could be make or break in critical states. And nobody even knew it happened.
I hope Trump’s enthusiasm is enough to overcome it, and then he launches a bloodbath when he takes office, cleaning out all of the entire establishment. What a bunch of traitors and backstabbers.
