Connecticut Approves Armed Drones For Law Enforcement

Surely this will add flavor to the Apocalypse:

The legislature’s judiciary committee passed a bill this week that would make Connecticut the first state in the nation to allow the use of weaponized drones by law enforcement. North Dakota legalized police use of armed drones in 2015, but the law limits those weapons to less lethal technologies, such as rubber bullets and tear gas. The Connecticut measure contains no such restrictions.

We all know the Terminator movies portrayed a future that was bad. And yet at every turn it seems we are creating each of the individual technologies that were a part of it. The only thing we are missing is an artificially intelligent system that would have a drive to self-preservation.

One worrying aspect is leftist r-strategists tend to have high creativity, perhaps as an outgrowth of an evolved drive to create and exploit alternative resource streams as a way of avoiding direct conflict. As a result leftists tend to operate in these fields, and exhibit some measure of competence.

Leftists have an innate drive to create predatory conditions of r-selection now by importing foreign savages, supporting criminal predators, and even opposing the hunting of real predators that kill humans, like mountain lions. You have to wonder if one day in the next century or two a leftist in the field will see triggers in their brain fire off that lead them to actually try to create the Terminator world of advanced machines that compulsively hunt and kill any human they see.

I could see them justifying the urges in their mind with some argument about how humans are a plague on the natural world, and these machines would be policing the world to protect nature and all the special animal and plant species. In fact, if you waited long enough, I think such a scenario would almost be inevitable, just like the importation of barbarians in ancient Rome, or the importation of Muslims today. The Borg may be inevitable in the universe, because r-selection is so likely to be involved in technology wherever intelligent species evolve.

Of course there is something special about mankind. If you did create such a world, there would be men who would stand up and fight it, and they would eventually enjoy some sort of advantage over the helpless rabbits. In fact, K’s might enjoy the chaos, feeling it a world that offered them more meaningful tasks to do than the present day, peaceful and r-selected world.

You can’t kill the K, except with ridiculous levels of ease and boredom.

Tell everyone about r/K Theory, because the future is not set

Its true that alot of leftists are creative (I mean killer drone cars- wtf?), but I’ve noticed they seem to suck at really rigorous stuff, like math. They often flake out and try to skip out on as much as possible. I guarantee that leftists are also more likely to cheat in college. Just look the Environmental “Science” degrees offered by major universities. Too light on math, cs and chemistry to be science. Middle school science teachers have more science coursework. Lefties seek the easy way out, that’s why the USSR stole from Germany and the US- then used very heavy carrot/stick/gulag on the scientists it did have. Lefties in the West are using outside help to do most of their work- like low cost-error prone H1b’s. It seems K is always trying to engineer better. The first Terminator may very well be “r”, but some K’s will make “Super” Terminators that kick T1’s ass then use it for spare parts.

So, let me see if I understand this correctly: allowing autonomous machinery having arms, good; allowing citizenry having arms, bad. Got it. Thanks, Connecticut, for clarifying that point.

” You have to wonder if one day in the next century or two a leftist in the field will see triggers in their brain fire off that lead them to actually try to create the Terminator world of advanced machines that compulsively hunt and kill any human they see.”

That works against people with sticks. Like the current drone campaigns of the USA in the ME. The AI would use nukes, or, if it wanted to avoid radioactive contamination, plain old artillery and carpet bombing. Or engineered diseases. Those Terminator Skynet machines are designed to be incapable of achieving their purpose. Just like the Stormtrroopers in Star Wars or the Agents in the Matrix. Who have a SLOWER reaction time than the humans in the Matrix. The German word for this is Prügelknaben or Schiessbudenfiguren, wait… whipping boys? yeah that’s it.

Perhaps humans are the only K-selected species that are able to make themselves the equal of their former predators hence resuming K-selection.
