Republican congressional investigators expect a potential “smoking gun” establishing that the Obama administration spied on the Trump transition team, and possibly the president-elect himself, will be produced to the House Intelligence Committee this week, a source told Fox News.
I had thought this was all going to be kabuki theater. But there is always the possibility some higher-ups are getting irritated with being followed all the time, and this might begin to trickle out. I have no doubt every member of that House Intelligence Committee, and all of their staff are under a level of coverage nobody would believe would ever be deployed on any citizen in the country. Whoever is turning in the smoking gun may be as well. Of course if the media are all intel agents, all of this might still amount to nothing.
There is a lot about the surveillance state I will never understand. Had these powers been limited in their application to just terrorist threats and dangerous criminals, I doubt anybody in the nation would ever have objected to their use by government. We could have been almost permanently protected against any future 9/11 type attack.
How higher ups in these agencies could ever think it wise to waste their political capital on watching every peon they happen across, is beyond me. Sooner or later all of this will be wasted, and it is looking like it may be sooner rather than later. I can only conclude political appointees must have taken over the machinery at some point, and to them the terrorism prevention and crime fighting was inconsequential compared to the possibility of complete political control.
On the bright side, President Trump has now established in everyone’s mind that either he, or the establishment and the media are right. If he is now proven right, every subsequent tweet will have to be taken seriously, and the meme of Fake News will only increase in strength.

Inevitable. Power corrupts, period. As it ever was.
That said, can we hope that Trump is an outlier? An exception? I sure hope so.
Truth be told this nation would not exist as it did, if not for fortuitously-timed outliers.
This stuff is moving way too quickly compared to the norm of ‘declassification’ of such events. The speed and veracity of what has already been exposed is extremely condemning and amazing in their implications. There is undoubtedly mountains of this stuff, readily accessible, and straining against the lids put in place to keep it under wraps.
I would lay money, there is a large number of honest, red-blooded Americans in these organizations intend on expelling all the puss.
No doubt fully aware (who better to know afterall) the cost of opposing the evils of the previous corrupt administration; and had decided to act when an entity able AND willing to defend (some might say protect) them from the threat of execution abound for exposing the truth of the past 8 years.
If the credibility of the evidence holds, there is great likelihood it won’t be long before a certain ‘first’ President earns another couple of ‘firsts’ to his credit.
