During the Cold War, hundreds of gay men and lesbians in Canada lost government and military jobs because of their sexual orientation after being harassed and interrogated under a national security campaign now dubbed the “LGBT purge”.
In 1986, Simon Thwaites was ordered into a meeting with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) special investigative unit. Investigators questioned the then-naval officer about his HIV status – positive, but asymptomatic.
Then they asked him to identify friends and other military members who were gay.
After the meeting, Thwaites’ security clearance was downgraded and he was re-assigned to menial tasks. His commanding officer recommended he be let go from the military because of his sexual orientation. In 1989, he was released for medical reasons.
Thwaites is one of hundreds of Canadian military and government employees who were drummed out of careers because of their sexual orientation, but the now 55-year-old’s case is one of the most well-documented.
Notice how different the psychologies were then. Gays triggered amygdalae, and that drove the expulsion of the gays. It wasn’t even up for debate.
What really blows my mind are two things. One, today’s rabbit psychologies cannot fathom how the entire population could have been like that back then, while the population back then cannot fathom how we could be like this today. Both psychologies are completely different, to the point that neither can understand what is just innate to the other.
Two, the changes which were made are just temporary, and with the appropriate environmental exposure to shortage, brains will rewire themselves and the old psychology will return effortlessly. Leftists love to pretend that the path to the Apocalypse is a one way trip, but it is really just a swing on a pendulum.
I am also awed by the fact that in all of this, logic plays absolutely no role at all. Brains are programmed, people act, culture is established, and only after all of that, do individuals try to justify everything they did with a logical explanation.
I am, however struck by the reduced disgust reflex exhibited by the “tolerant” segment of our populations. If a pandemic hits, I expect that will fuel its spread in that segment, as it culls the broader population for those resistant to such degradation of disgust. If a pandemic hits, expect the surviving population to be much less LGBT tolerant in the future.

Just from a practical standpoint, once you are HIV positive you should be drummed out, regardless of your sexual practices. You are a walking blood-borne pathogen source. Soldiers bleed. That’s part of the job. When you are doing your most important jobs, you will likely be bleeding, and people around you will be bleeding. If you are an infection vector, you are turning everyone around you into additional casualties by your mere presence.

Recently there was a media campaign about the one thing people don’t know about HIV today. They tried to argue it can’t be passed on if you’re on meds. That is a total barefaced lie. We had a scandal where sex tourist dentists still pass it on to patients and insist they have a right to work with thin gloves and pointy things.
During the “McCarthy” era, many gays were purged from the US government as well as communists. This was because there was a large overlap between the two.
Wasn’t Pierre Trudeau a commie anyways? B/c of him the US could share very little with the Canucks regarding mutual defense. The U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy had to police the arctic most of the time.
Notice that the acronym LGBT didn’t even exist in 1986. How many “transgenders” even existed in the Canadian government and military in 1986? Look, if I “identify” as a billionaire, do you think that anyone will actually consider me a billionaire? The fact that these psychologically damaged individuals think that considering themselves the opposite sex of what they were born, or actually indulge in creating pronouns for non-existent genders shows how defective their reality is. And yet, they will get indignant and angry if you refer to them by their non-preferred fantasy label. Yes, psychology should go back to listing LGBTUVWXYZ as psychological disorders.
