California Has The Worst Drivers

California has bad drivers:

California drivers are the worst in the United States, thanks to gridlocked freeways, smartphone use and an increase in drunk driving, according to an annual study by an insurance marketplace.

QuoteWizard, an online marketplace for auto insurance, said Thursday an overall increase in citations, distracted driving and DUIs helped push the Golden State to the number one spot in terms of bad drivers from second place in 2016.

“The dubious honor of having the worst drivers in the country goes to California,” the study concluded. “California’s less-than-stellar drivers are somewhat notorious — especially in gridlocked Los Angeles.”

In fact, five of the top 10 cities with the worst drivers are located in California. Those cities include Sacramento — ranked the worst nationwide — Riverside, San Diego, Los Angeles and Bakersfield.

It is worth noticing that car accidents and amygdala damage from T. gondii are related:

The subjects with latent toxoplasmosis have significantly increased risk of traffic accidents than the noninfected subjects. Relative risk of traffic accidents decreases with the duration of infection. These results suggest that ‘asymptomatic’ acquired toxoplasmosis might in fact represent a serious and highly underestimated public health problem, as well as an economic problem.

Interestingly, with time the brain seems to rewire around the encysted regions, reacquiring some reaction times. Of course if the issue is amygdala atrophy, both environmental and epigenetic, the only thing which will accomplish rewiring is a few months in an Apocalypse.

My parents moved from Chicago to LA before I was born (1966). Growing up, my mother would marvel at how good California drivers were (Illinois drivers were pretty bad). Back then, when it was one of the reddest of red states, California did indeed have a reputation for having some of the best and most courteous drivers in the country, and traffic was never not an issue.

Aztecs are notorious for drunk driving. No surprise that’s up. But what’s a working class family burned to death in a drunk driving massacre when the r-tards can signal their loyalty to a criminal, resource-sucking, low IQ invader?

Moving from a town an hour from Chicago to a town an hour from LA, I noticed the CA drivers are more mellow and less mean than in Chicago, but just as obscessed with getting ahead of you even if the attempt kills them.

CA is also the least-White state in the continental US, only 40% White, about 40% mestizo and about 14% “asian,” so that might go a long way towards explaining their poor driving.

At least on 101 in the SF Bay Area, people don’t signal for lane changes, either, and the traffic is dense enough that it matters. To a conscientious Germanic it’s infuriating. The prudent person has to start signalling earlier than they normally would, to warn off people who were going to try to just swoop in to where you were going to go. Oh yeah, also, at one apartment complex in Fremont, you park in a row of assigned car ports, and you have to back out blind. Well someone too cool for the rules sped along behind all these potential backers-out, and I nearly shat myself with how close he came. And it wasn’t just the once and he didn’t learn, either, because the land lady commented about the guy doing this, and I hadn’t said anything about my incident. I blame (probably young) Indians and other brown people, who apparently are too cool for the rules.
