Austria Taking Rightward Turn

The K-shift progresses:

In Europe’s latest shift to the right, the expected next chancellor of Austria announced that his conservative party had cemented terms to form a government with the country’s anti-immigrant Freedom Party.

In announcing the deal, which comes exactly two months after the Alpine country’s parliamentary election, Sebastian Kurz said his center-right conservatives and the nationalists had agreed to govern on a platform of tax cuts, social welfare and an increasingly tough stance against illegal immigration.

Mr. Kurz, who is expected become the world’s youngest leader at 31 years old when the country’s president approves his coalition, said that Austrians voted for “change in our land” and that the two parties had agreed to govern together after “negotiations in which (we) had different opinions and positions in many areas, but met as equals.”

The Austrian election and the resulting coalition are among the many political aftershocks that have rung through the continent since hundreds of thousands of migrants came crashing through Europe’s gates two years ago.

One of the more interesting aspects to r and K is that they are exactly like Yin and Yang, even down to each containing the seed of the other. Within r lie the unmistakable seeds of K, just as within K lie the seeds of r.

This K-shift would never happen if we did not have r-strategists rising to prominence and instituting unmistakably r policies. Increase welfare, import hostile foreigners, spend as if money will never run out, and while it seems like you are creating the perfect r-society, you are setting the stage for K’s natural return. Try to stifle K as it comes back, and force even more r upon an increasingly unwilling populace, and you only fire up amygdalae more, and make K’s ultimate return even more powerful.

It is why I look on all the God-Emperor’s winning with a wistful caution. As he frees up market competitiveness, supports the police in creating safety, defeats terrorism, minimizes Muslim immigration, excludes illegal immigrants, reestablishes American dominance on the national stage, defeats our terrorist enemies, and just makes America great again, he is sowing the seeds of r by creating the very K-government we desire.

Likewise, I was able to look on Obama’s winning a second term with aplomb, because I knew it would be like interest building in a bank account that would ultimately yield a victory like the God-Emperor’s ascendance.

They key is recognizing the cycle, and knowing that life is the battle, even more than the winning. Relish the battle and doing your part, and you will always be happy.

Especially in Europe, where the battle is just beginning.

Tell everyone about r/K Theory, because the battle is the fun

Mass migration has never been a popular policy though, no matter the era or generation.

The real question is whether FPO itself has K-shifted. It used to be chock full of homosexuals, and last time they were in a coalition they did, by all accounts, a bad job.

If they do better, it will suggest that stridency has become the moderate position for rational folks. So hopefully they do.

I’m pretty sure the battle is just beginning here. And the Spartans might have been awful by todays standards, but since todays standards kind of suck, maybe we should take a look at some of what they did to keep their populace strong.

It amazes me that more people don’t just look at facts dispassionately. The trend lines from those facts show that a great disaster is coming, knowing that this chaos draws closer every day is enough in itself to drive K, or very K- all the time, at least from my point of view. Every day spent not being productive while resources are abundant is another day wasted. Humans are not herd animals, become one and you are doomed.

Anon, have you ever read Pareto’s Sociology? He mapped out r/K a century ago. He described elites as falling into one of two categories: foxes or lions. You can probably guess which maps on to r and which to K. You should definitely check out Pareto if you haven’t before. The General Sociology is available in an authorized abridgment called “Compendium of General Sociology”. Highly recommend you pick it up, or just study his concept of the Circulation of the Elites and Lions vs. Foxes.
