Transgender Madness

As you read it ponder how historically, what was weird today, ended up tame compared to what is weird tomorrow:

New York City’s new rules on transgender rights could bring about hefty fines for businesses and landlords who don’t use the right pronouns for their workers and tenants.

According to guidelines recently released by the New York Commission on Human Rights, failure to recognize a person’s preferred gender can result in fines of $125,000 for unintentional acts – or $250,000 if the offense is intentional.

Among the offenses that could bring a fine:

• Repeatedly using a pronoun or name not preferred by the transgendered person even if official identification shows a different name and gender.

• Requiring a transgendered employee to wear a gender specific uniform of the gender not identified with or to require female employees to wear makeup or prevent male employees from doing so.

• Requiring all men to wear ties before being allowed to dine in a restaurant.

What is really vexing, is the leftist’s attitude:

“This is what the Obama administration nudged the rest of the country toward Friday,” the editorial said. “Yes, the thought of male genitalia in girls’ locker rooms — and vice versa — might be distressing to some. But the battle for equality has always been in part about overcoming discomfort — with blacks sharing facilities, with gays sharing marriage — then realizing it was not nearly so awful as some people imagined.”

The left is simultaneously creating policy designed to cause conservatives to self-segregate and partition themselves from leftists, and hate leftists with a passion that is usually reserved for war.

I don’t know exactly how the Apocalypse plays out. But I do know at some point the civilizational structure liberals rely upon to keep from being killed by their violent superiors is going to be in great danger. It will want to collapse, beneath its own weight, and it will require great sacrifice by everyone in the country to be kept operational.

If it does collapse, liberals will have segregated themselves in the areas which will see the worst violence. Their areas will have exactly the type of high-density population, filled with individuals who know nothing of self-sufficiency, that will feel the shortage the worst. Their areas will be the disarmed areas where the violent criminals who illegally arm themselves will have free reign over a helpless population of sheep. It will be brutal.

Myself, I’ll be toasting it’s charred and smoldering wreckage with great satisfaction, as I watch the carnage unfold.
