This is a clear sign of a K-shift:
Target is facing a nationwide backlash for its support of transgender rights.
More than 1.2 million people have signed a pledge to boycott the retailer after it announced last month that it would welcome transgender customers to use any bathroom or fitting room that matches their gender identity.
Critics have been holding protests and demonstrations at stores across the country, and they are showing no signs of dying down…
So what does that mean for Target’s business? Sales may drop for at least short period, according to YouGov BrandIndex, a firm that measures consumer perceptions of major brands on a daily basis.
Before the boycott, 42% of consumers considered buying from Target the next time they shop at a department store. In the last couple weeks, that share has fallen to 36%, according to YouGov data provided to Business Insider.
Consumer perception of the brand has also dropped sharply. It’s at its lowest point in two years.
A South Carolina tow truck driver who supports Donald Trump for president refused to help a motorist stranded on the side of Interstate 26 Monday because of her Bernie Sanders bumper sticker.
Kenneth Shupe, who owns Shupee Max Towing in Travelers Rest, told a local ABC News affiliate that he “drew a line in the sand” when he saw the sticker on Cassy McWade’s stranded vehicle in Asheville.
“Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said get in the truck and leave,” Mr. Shupe said. “And when I got in my truck, you know, I was so proud, because I felt like I finally drew a line in the sand and stood up for what I believed.”
Ms. McWade, who had been in a minor car accident, said Mr. Shupe had already started the process of towing her vehicle when he suddenly changed his mind.
The key hallmark of r-selection is that out-grouping doesn’t carry any cost. First, everyone is so dopamine addled that they can’t bring themselves to care enough to inflict cost for rabbitry. Second, resources are so flush that even if someone tried, the rabbit would merely find your resources elsewhere.
That is why the strategy of rabbitry – stabbing everyone in your group in the back when they aren’t looking, while seeking to do it in ways that won’t get you blamed – is so successful. Everyone else suffers, and even if they figured out what happened, their punishment would cost less to you than the generalized horrors you inflicted on all of them.
Now, K-strategists are seeing enough amygdala stimulation that they are beginning to out-group the rabbits. Historically, the rabbits will begin to try to focus on directing that K-rage at some out-group such as foreigners, religious minorities, or racial minorities because if they don’t, it will be turned upon them.
The most affecting form of this shunning would be the ejection of all rabbits from the group at a time when such shunning would mean certain death. That would be what would happen in pure K-selection. We are not there – yet.
But everything we are seeing today is on a spectrum, and at present we are heading in the right direction for it.

At some point you have to stand up for what you believe in.
I left Target years ago for poor service and no selection for those of us outside their ‘target’ demographic, I’m over 30 – well over… This is my hometown discounter and I’d rather drive 10 miles further to do my shopping. This latest move by Target’s mgmt just validates my good judgement.
Not sure if anyone else has noted this on your site, but there is a book/movie about rabbits called Watership Down that seems to be an exploration of the “r” mindset. The 2-3 minute opening sequence of the movie is basically a children’s cartoon depiction of r/K selection theory. Some of the characters seem to epitomize the neurosis of modern “rabbits” we see to commonly today.

I’ve seen the same thing myself, though in reverse. I walked in to a Burger King while traveling, and was the only guy in there. The cashier, some fat-assed black bitch, walks up, looks at me, gives me a dirty look, and walks away in front of the manager. I immediately change my mind and leave the store to eat elsewhere. It wasn’t until I got back in the car and looked in the mirror when I noticed that I was wearing my NRA hat that day. I guess a white boy who owns guns and is proud of it triggers the Black Lies Matter set.
I had that kind of treatment all the time from black people.
This after Mozilla, someone could write a business book of case studies where SJW meddling ruined the bottom line.
