Didn’t end well, and strangely this article was wiped from the original local affiliate that ran it:
The building manager of a Central Florida condo said he spent time talking to Deborah Jean Palfrey on Monday as she packed to go to her mother’s house and she did not seem suicidal… He strongly believes Palfrey’s death was not a suicide.
“Jean Palfrey was a class act. She wore very good clothes. She was well educated. Her way out of this world certainly would not have been in an aluminum shed attached to a mobile home in Tarpon Springs, Florida,” he said…
Palfrey’s building manager said she often told him she believed she was being followed and he thinks there may have been some former clients of her escort service who wanted her dead.
“She insinuated that there is a contract out for her and I fully believe they succeeded,” her building manager said.
Hanging is actually a good, easy way to stage a suicide for forensic reasons, especially for a woman, though I have no idea what happened here.
I remember reading online about a dominatrix in NYC who was known for walking powerful men around on leashes as they yipped like little dogs. Peter Jennings was supposedly one of her clients, as was Marv Albert. She came home one day, interrupted somebody in her apartment and they killed her. After a lot of googling, it appears it was never solved. Given her involvement with the powerful, I’d be shocked if she wasn’t under coverage by somebody at the time of her slaying. Even back then I wondered if she had interrupted a black bag operation at her apartment targeting one of her clients for blackmail video.
It seems funny to jump into the political world and see what happens, even as a goof with little chance of ever doing anything serious. I’d imagine it gets even funnier if surveillance shows up. Suddenly you are like George Costanza in that old episode of Seinfeld where PlayNow figured out he was fake handicapped. You wait for the day you walk up to your front door to see plywood nailed across it, so you have to crawl inside through your fireplace chimney.
But there are a lot of powerful people who do not see it as funny. If you are anywhere near power, or even might end up there, there are people who already have it and they will do anything to make sure nobody else gets near it. I doubt they’d off minor players now, but as the apocalypse closes in, I think anything will become possible.
Lesson of the story – paranoia is only bad if someone isn’t out to get you.
