In courts, destruction of evidence typically creates an adverse presumption on the party who destroys the records. I don’t know how this would translate into the electoral process, but it is very possible that the doubtful provenance of the MI results would open the way to contest the results in that state too. I strongly suspect Trump will get the MI electoral college votes. (Strongly enough that I’m kicking myself for not taking more bets on Trump’s victory.)
