New Q Drop – Find The Surveillance – And The Targets

Q posted four photos, with a drop.

The first photo is a reprint of a photo Q posted back on 2/16:

I suspect you can never know what Q’s drops mean exactly. If you could establish with 100% certainty what any drop meant, it would cease being a deniable intelligence drop, and it would be a definite release of information, confirming Q’s attachment to Trump and his validity – something I think they do not want to do at this point for strategic reasons. In retrospect what this means will probably be clear, but for now, we are trying to find the greatest probability.

It is also impossible to read scenes of surveillance with any absolute certainty, because all aspects of surveillance are designed to look like regular activity. So all you can do is look at probabilities.

So where is the surveillance? It is everywhere. It is the cameras on the intersections. It is the people on the streets. It is the cars driving by. It is people sitting in cafes, and bicyclists driving by. As the job becomes more important, it is faces in the windows on the tenth floor, and with real pros, eyes peeking out from behind drapes and cameras on hybrid-powered planes flying high enough you can’t hear them or see them easily. It is eyes peeking through binoculars from cover a hundred yards away. And it is hidden wireless cameras hidden ahead of your route, and even drones flying high overhead. In short, it is designed not to be noticed by people who have never seen it before.

That said, one thing jumped out at me in this set of images.

Note that the 2/16 image was taken before the images just dropped, based on (our) left-most lane heading toward us, which has five cars instead of six. Interestingly all cars have their headlights all lit.

In the more recent pictures, one headlight in the dark SUV at the head of the middle line, as indicated, is off.

What does that mean? Professional surveillance vehicles come with some interesting electronic gimmicks installed. Under the dash, or under the side of the driver’s seat will usually be a set of switches, allowing you to do various things, like kill all electric to your brake lights, kill tail/running lights, and shut off individual external brakelights/headlights/running lights.

The individual light shut off is a way of altering your vehicle’s “silhouette,” or profile while you are conducting a follow. So if I begin following you from a command position behind you one night, I may kill one headlight, so if you look in your rear view mirror, you see an SUV with one headlight. When I have to pick up your tail again later that night, I will turn on the headlight, and now you, ever surveillance aware, notice an SUV similar to the one behind you earlier again, but this one has on two headlights. You conclude either I got the headlight fixed in the last couple of hours, which is very unlikely, or this is a different vehicle, and you are not really being followed around. It works the same with taillights/brakelights, and a cheating command where I follow you from in front of you. You notice another white sedan two cars ahead again, but this one has all its running lights, while the last one had the right rear running light out. Clearly it is not the same vehicle and you are not being followed around.

Some teams reportedly also use those lights to indicate things to other vehicular or foot surveillance units within their sightline, when one may not want to use a radio. A right headlight flashing off may be a sign of being burned, and put everyone on high alert for a target about to bolt. Teams have back up communication systems, even including hand signs for use within a car to signal anything from sudden backdowns to lost targets, because you never know when a radio or repeater may go down, and you need to have a failsafe method of communications for that worst case scenario.

So anyway, either that vehicle moved backward between the first photo and the second to obscure the headlight behind the traffic light, which seems unlikely, or it killed a headlight to alter its profile to a target or targets in front of it. So now we know where the targets Q is referencing are – they are in front of the lead SUV.

And we may also deduce that either that vehicle was in their sightline with two headlights, and then killed one after they left his headlights’ sightline (less likely, IMO), or the target/targets were approaching, the operator felt he might be recognized based on a previous close call, and he decided to kill one headlight to alter his profile, and guard against a possible burn.

Since Q says it is six targets, a logical guess is it is the six targets walking across the street in front of the car. It makes sense. Even though Q says look at the vehicles, six targets of vehicles would be difficult to spot in that photo, while the six people moving together are pretty clearly a good candidate.

You can’t tell who they are in this photo.

Shaved head might be security given he is looking at the cars, possibly indicating surveillance awareness, because that is certainly where my eyes would be, scrutinizing each face for any unusual interest, or unusual response to my interest in and focus on them. The again, he has a female with him. Then again they might pair up a male and female security just to keep them from looking like security, and having the group stand out. Maybe it is me, but the two other pairs might look Middle Eastern, based on the hair color.

But you can tell where they came from, either up the street on the left, down the street on the left, or maybe from the ramp at the middle of the street which leads to a small empty dock and that ship tied up on the left hand side of the picture. (I do not see vehicles parked they could have come from.) You can also tell where they are going.

Judging by the satellite overhead, the ship is the RS Hispaniola. It is a floating bar and restaurant. Notice also, it is possible they took a boat which ties up at the little dock next to the Hispaniola. If I were trying to ditch a surveillance team, or just see if I had one, and I didn’t know how modern surveillance worked, I might think hopping a small boat to cross the Thames, while my surveillance was trapped on the other side, would be a good counter-surveillance technique.

I also noticed these two photos:

It is possible that is a vehicular unit picking up foot surveillance that was tailing them, and dropped the tail on command when they made it to the traffic cam. The distance is right. And the pedestrian first appears to walk to the front of the car, before walking along its side, using the car as cover from the targets, as he walks around the pile of whatever that is on the sidewalk. It is tough to tell from a single photo, but he might be loitering near the back of the car as well, before getting in. [Update – This is incorrect – I misread the order of these. This character was actually standing by the side of the road loitering at first, and then actually stopped by the car, communicated something, and was moving off toward the stairs. Still curious, but not being picked up.]

If that was the case, that would indicate they probably came from that stairway in the background, because if they came from farther up the street, I would assume the vehicle would have picked the foot surveillance up there to be farther from the targets. That means they probably had just had drinks or dinner on the RS Hispaniola, which on Feb 16th was hosting the Boat Show Comedy Club from 8-10PM, assuming that picture was even taken on the 16th, which may be unlikely.

If they had taken a boat to cross the Thames, they would probably not have a foot unit following from those stairs, as surveillance would break off and pick them up on the other side, rather than follow them across and burn the operation (assuming it is not a harassment/decoy operation).

If however they had a larger travel/live-aboard boat moored on the Thames, and they took a tender/inflatable to the dock next to the Hispaniola, then foot surveillance might have been stationed on the Hispaniola as a makeshift observation post to watch the boat, radioed when they left in the tender for the dock, and then pretended to be a Hispaniola customer leaving after a meal to tail them to the light, rendezvous with the vehicular unit, and begin the night’s follow.

A boat is a good way to travel from country to country without the irritations and risks inherent to checking in with customs and getting your passport stamped, or having to declare everything you are transporting, including cash. That might account for Q’s UK:US and US:UK posting. This could have been documentation of a return to the UK after a little off the books trip to the US for some reason or other.

On the satellite imagery I see the prominent building they are walking toward in the last photo is the Corinthian Hotel London on Whitehall. Opposite the Corinthian, on the side of the street they are walking on, and in the direction they are walking toward, is the National Liberal Club, a private member’s-only club devoted to liberal (in Britain right-wing) politics, which shares quarters with the Author’s Club which has a history as a notorious MI6 cover operation where spies can meet and greet in a denied area under the guise of innocently visiting a private social club. No telling if that is significant.

Part of me wonders if Q dropped this to see how many of his readers have become unusually familiar with surveillance procedures and the quirks you notice when you are under surveillance. It will be interesting to see how many of Q’s other readers notice the headlight, which is why I think Q said to look at the vehicles.

Tell others about r/K Theory, because you never know who else is watching

Your comparison of the two photos with traffic isn’t quite accurate. The angle is different in the 2nd one where you can see the cycle lane at the front, so it looks like it’s been taken slightly further back. There are still 6 vehicles in the left hand lane as you can just about see the roof of the last car. The traffic light is blocking the right hand headlight on the car in the 2nd image. Our lights in the U.K. are on posts, not overhead on gantries.

You can also tell that they were taken milliseconds apart, maybe part of a sequence of shots. Look at the right hand lane (in the 2nd picture) and you will see the gap after the 3rd car with the other vehicles coming up behind them.

In the first picture you can also see pedestrians crossing the road to the left hand side of the photo.

I would suggest that the 2nd shot was taken first as the vehicles are approaching the lights and the pedestrian crossing which is why there are people in the first image as they are crossing the road when the pedestrian lights have turned green.

I’ll actually go further as on closer inspection the traffic in the lane to the right of the 2nd photo is a filter lane. The vehicles were still moving when the shots were taken and are in a different order to the first one.

The main two lanes are stationary at the traffic lights, but we have system where a filter lane can be set at green or change to green to allow traffic to move left (from their perspective) to join in with the traffic crossing at right angles to the stationary traffic.

Your 1st photo shows a queue of cars in that lane. I would then suggest there was a light change to green for the filter lane which is why the vehicles are in motion.

Still scary to know every movement is being watched in such detail. And I have no doubt they can zoom in on any vehicle and pick up its registration plate and even the faces of the driver and passengers.

On a related note, I thought former US Amb McFaul’s description of overt Russian surveillance of him and his family during his tenure in Moscow was interesting: https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/05/19/michael-mcfaul-book-excerpt-218408

I wouldn’t be surprised if the “grandmothers walking their dogs in the park in front of our house” were also intel.

Ironic that the big illuminated ferris wheel forms a Q.
