In a strongly worded address before the United Nations Wednesday, a Vatican spokesman denounced President Trump’s threats against North Korea as “deplorable.”
Speaking in New York at the 10th Conference for the entry into force of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, Archbishop Paul R. Gallagher, the Vatican’s Secretary for Relations with States, noted that the rising tensions over North Korea’s growing nuclear program “are of special urgency,” while sharply criticizing President Trump’s handling of the situation.
“The international community must respond by seeking to revive negotiations,” Gallagher said. “The threat or use of military force have no place in countering proliferation, and the threat or use of nuclear weapons in countering nuclear proliferation are deplorable.”
The Archbishop went on to say that building up a strong military—one or Mr. Trump’s stated priorities—is counterproductive and hearkens back to a Cold War mentality.
“We must put behind us the nuclear threats, fear, military superiority, ideology, and unilateralism that drive proliferation and modernization efforts and are so reminiscent of the logic of the Cold War,” Gallagher said, in evident reference to the American President.

By stabbing his own in the back, this Pope is already pre-integrated into any foreign society he would migrate to if things got hot in his homeland. He could move to a foreign land, and seamlessly be seen as one of their people, simply based on his disloyalty to his old people.
Here, North Korea is detonating nuclear weapons, and threatening to use them on us, but President Trump is not supposed to help America have a strong military to protect itself. Clearly the Pope is not designed for a world where an inability to defend yourself has real consequences.
The only thing more astonishing than the fact that such an r-selected psychology was not culled by Darwin eons ago, is that when resources are free, that psychology actually has a reproductive advantage over normal people.

The asalariados of the ACC enjoy easy and absolute job security and ease only by studying theology LOL. That while they live in a country which inhabitants suffer including 1/3 who live in villas worse than gettos, another 50% is massively poor. The top 20% earn 1K dollars per month while the top 10% earn about 1.5K / month. The top 5% starts at 2K / month. That in spite of no wars, and free, not religious and public universities plus cheap food. In spite of this the population is functionally illiterate and 3rd world like poor. So by entering onto the church he got plenty of cheap resources while being surrounded by a sea of misery.
On top of that the Argentinian infrastructure is crumbling to the point of importing and rationalizing power and gas, plus suffering random cuts to the service.
All this means he is a rabbit even by the standards of a rabbit country, being worse than what could be inferred by breitbart’s article.
This actually isn’t a new thing, a collection of Catholic Bishops condemned Reagan’s buildup in the 1980’s and called for a nuclear freeze. I would think the fact that most countries would not invade a nuclear arm power or a nation back by another superpower has led to the modern world having less conflict than ever before. When you read Roman, Greek and Byzantium history you realize that what happen after WW2 is very rare.
If we only went with happen historical then the likely hood of the Soviet Union and the USA going to war is high and I would point it to about 1966 to 1976 or about 20 to 30 years give or take after WW2 (ending in my guess in 1946 without atomic bomb on hiroshima).
Without the bomb India and China would be in conflict. I think Japan would be in conflicts with China, Russia and probably North Korea over islands.
The world would be totally different. The Germans could not of gone as r and voted in Merkel if conflict/s between the US and Soviet happen since it would be in their area. France in my opinion would mostly likely break from the allies around the late 1950s claiming to be neutral since they would not want to be invaded or bomb again and after the soviet collapses would be just as r today.
I suspect you are right, but I think being a superpower is probably very similar. Once we didn’t have a hostile force just over the border who we might have to fight for our lives with, and we all had enough that we could survive very comfortably without the war, that itself is a shift in psychology.
But you are right that once Nukes showed up, the chances of war became infinitesimal, and that did it even more all over the world. It might have even made people say, fuck the war shit, let’s just focus on production, which fed r even more.
Makes me wonder that if the shift to K is amygdala-jacking enough whether Nuclear war might not be a possibility.
It’s too risky to take the chance of weakened deterrence and NOT have nukes. That said there were many conflicts in the Cold War that were proxy, and a great deal of expansionist tendencies. The main issue of deterrence is nuclear powers fighting each other, which would be very unlikely. There would be atrophy from near peers (which could really challenge each other) NOT fighting, but maybe just threatening each other. More planning would take place so some remaining societal K would shift to mere planning, which is boring for K’s but they do it best. All of that changes though with the potential of an accident (like Able Archer ’83) or the arrival of an insane or suicidal nuclear armed state, such as a muslim nuclear power or North Korea. Then you can get WWII type combat intensity combined with nuclear exchanges. It would be unique, and we could be headed towards a potential fate like that. Also read this and tell me it doesn’t stimulate the Amygdala a bit (don’t worry too much though, it’s very unlikely).

What is good and evil?
Evil and Good does not exist. It is a human invention, an illusion.
But some people are said to be “evil” or “good”. What does it mean?
The earliest example, greatly clarifying the true meaning, is seen in children:
If they do not behave, that is, submit under external rules, they are said to misbehave,
to behave or be “evil”.
If the child is completely subservient, it is “good.”
Evil is a codeword for non-submissive, for not being a slave, for not acting in the interests of OTHERS, and perhaps for not acting against one’s own interests.
Being a docile slave, acting for other people’s interests and renouncing one’s own, is said to be “good” – actually it is not much of a surprise if others praise somebody who acts in a way that benefits them, instead of himself.
Enslavement can be brought about by chains and physical violence, but the same behaviour
can be induced by psychological violence (and perhaps selective breeding – I wonder if the rulers of humanity select/breed for better slaves, harmless underlings, to make ruling easier) – by education, moral systems and the like.
What are the true interests of the Church?
Keeping power and wealth.
How?
By keeping or growing the number their followers, for political – and financial – power.
Being a Christian means having a slave mentality – as is easily seen by the dogma of
serving the (worldly) rulers, showing no aggression, and instead teaching submission (“to turn the other cheek”). Note that not even defending yourself against aggressors is allowed in Christian
doctrine. (Forget the crusades – they are a tiny exception to the dogma for the masses).
The church’s followers are mostly people with a declination to be submissive, less intelligent,
and less successful in worldly life; people who suffer and are afraid – of competition, of death,
of existential uncertainness in life and afterlife.
The Church must pander to the desires of their followers, to keep them and grow their numbers.
They do not want to hear of war, or struggle, or uncertainties – regarding life or afterlife – they
want assurances that if they “behave”, that is, keep being submissive slaves to rules of others – “everything will be good” for them, even eternally.
They trade servitude for protection.
Therefore, the Church has to do lip-service according to the desires of their followers.
But only that – talk is cheap.
The Church has been found regularly to invest its wealth in arms manufacturers, contraceptive
manufacturers and the like – clearly contrary to their official doctrine.
The true aim, the true purpose of the Church is power, ruling, wealth – for its leaders;
and Church also rendered and renders valuable services for “worldly rulers”, for example
by helping to exterminate socialistic movements (for example in South America or Africa),
or by destroying the threat from Communism (a valuable contribution of the Church in the Cold War,
and especially clearly historically documented in after-WW2-Italy).
Generally, Socialism and Communism is psychologically very tempting for losers in human competition for status, resources and reproduction – the Church’s main modern utility is in
attracting and controlling these people, so they do not cause trouble by following leftist ideas.
To succeed at this, the Church must, at least verbally, promote some socialist/leftist ideas,
lest their follower base strays away from the Church towards the Socialists, therefore causing
not only trouble to the Church, but also to the general upper class, that is, capitalist ruling class.
Basically, the primary utility of the Church is to neutralize loser humans – per definition always the majority – into submission and to keep them away from Communist ideas.
While this is what the Church truly DOES, it is not quite what the Church IS.
What the Church, today and for hundreds of years, IS:
A source of prestige, status, wealth and luxury for its top members.
And:
A comfortable hiding place for homosexuals.
Yes, exactly.
Consider the Middle Ages:
Homosexuals were killed, burned, etc.
Homos would not want to marry.
What would smart homos do?
Become a priest – you were cleared from having a wife, were meant to have no sex – no problems here.
You lived in monasteries – together with other men, that is, other gay men, behind
high walls that conveniently hid what happened behind for the outside world to notice.

Consider the reports about child molestation by the Catholic Church in the last few decades alone:
Known, and confirmed cases by the Church itself – are around one million sexually molested children. Children?
Most exactly – young boys. There were almost zero cases of molested girls.
Consider that carefully – if priests were not practically all homosexuals, why were there not
sexually abused girls among that million of cases?

So, do not pay much attention to what people or organisations say publicly.
Pay attention what they do, instead.
And try to understand their true (often carefully concealed) interests, their incentives, in the game of social warfare for resources, status, power and reproduction – for if you cannot find that out, you cannot really understand why people and organisations behave in the way they do, and you cannot adequately predict their behavior.
There is good and evil. You have to see true evil, up close, to realize that though. Before my eyes were opened, I was a pure mechanist/Darwinist, and morals were just prosocial urges evolved to facilitate more cohesive and functional groups. I didn’t believe there was any good or evil on a deeper level (or a God), just adapted/maladapted.
In truth, both are correct. The world is designed to produce good, so I now see adapted-the-way-God-wanted/good and rebelling-against-what-the-world-is-designed-to-produce-overall/evil.
There are probably fast-tracks to finding your way to that understanding. Being an apprentice exorcist I suspect would change your world view. Interviewing near death experiences of both the evil and the good would probably help too. Nurses in nursing homes frequently come to that from seeing people die, and in their last moments begin talking to others logically about leaving. One or two can be a delusion. Twenty or thirty makes you think something more is going on. Fifty or a hundred are a process.
Or you can meet real evil, and come to realize it does evil for evil’s sake, even when it is personally disadvantageous, even when it has personal cost, and even when doing good would be vastly better for it. There is something about a character who will destroy his own life, and even sacrifice himself, almost Christ-like, just to inflict pain on innocent people, see happiness destroyed, and know he had fought against a good happy world of freedom and success. There is something there that defies a mechanistic explanation. I can’t even put it fully into words, beyond the only thing I think when I see it is how weird it is – unless the evil have pledged some sort of allegiance to an evil authority, and have a deeper knowledge-of/experience-with the world, natural and otherwise, than me. I suppose I think it strange any idiot who would pledge allegiance to Satan, would know firsthand, more about the world than me. But I am certain they do.
The Pope is evil. I have seen the eyes of evil up close, and I see it in him. There is no reasoning with him. There is no going your own way. I’ll bet he rages at staff just to make them miserable. Happiness drives him crazy. I suspect he would even tolerate children being hurt for a greater cause, because everything is bargainable because he has no desire to endure pain now for better justice later, and I will bet he gets off on others being miserable. And it would not even surprise me there is more evil there than we would believe.

Truly evil people are the scorpion. They will try to take people down just because they enjoy the suffering even if it cost them their lives. In many way they are also very suicidal people but will not just take their own lives they must leave suffering in their wake.
Hey anonymous how does the narcissists exist genetically. I mean people in a society after they find out the narcissists causing the trouble they would not want their children to breed with the narcissists or their offspring? Would it not led to a genetic dead end? Since the children of a Narcissist are either Narcissist themselves or a bit crazy and very unhappy from living with one for years.
The only way I see it is for a Narcissist men it would not be is if they had many children with other women ie the r type society. But for a Narcissist women would it not be better to tie herself to a loyal men who cares more about his children ie closer to a K society?

I think the narcissist is the pure r-strategist. In pure r, you do not need anyone to be loyal. You can always run to a new field of grass, so why not just focus on screwing everyone behind their back (to avoid conflict yourself while still getting ahead), and taking whatever you can for yourself. It is the ultimate form of r. And since it si so ultimate, why would any female adapted to an r-environment not want that for their offspring?
I can feel there are really deep insights – into religion, into human nature, into evil, and probably other stuff too, wrapped up in that conflict – that perfect bliss produces the deepest darkness and grossest unhappiness when we approach it in this world. But it is so fucked up I don’t even want to think about it, or try to model it in my mind.
