A 63-year-old man died early Tuesday in an apparent fall at the Russian Consulate on the Upper East Side, police said.
The man plummeted to his death at the consulate on E. 91st St. near 5th Ave. just before 7 a.m. He died at the scene.
If a live person is thrown from Russian territory alive, and lands (and dies) in US territory, was it murder according to the law? Who investigates, Russian authorities, or US authorities?
No word if this guy’s name was Eric Braverman, or if this was a Clinton hit-man sent to take him out. The way things are going today, I would not be shocked at all.
Seems a little messy to be a hit though, unless they wanted to send a message. My guess is the Russians would follow the Iraqi protocol – you kill them in the basement, and ship the bodies home piece by piece in diplomatic pouches.
Still, I’d love to hear the jokes the head of security/SVR head-of-station is making among his fellow spooks as he reports the story to higher-ups, and denies responsibility for it when they playfully poke him about whether he did it.
