Adapting on the fly, and getting more potent:
Twenty-one of the 49 people infected with H7N9 avian flu in January died in east China’s Jiangsu Province, the provincial health and family planning commission announced on Friday.
In December, 14 of 54 people died from the virus.
There will be a lot of exposures in the future, from the looks of things:
Authorities in China’s third-largest city warned that about 30 per cent of its live poultry markets were contaminated with the H7N9 avian flu virus, the China Daily reported on Saturday (Feb 11).
The newspaper said the disease control authority in Guangzhou, capital of the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, urged residents to avoid contact with live poultry after tests in the past week.
These things adapt. The more they get into humans, and the longer they cook, the greater the chances something really bad will emerge. Just in a month, this may have increased its lethality about 50%. So far human to human transmission appears limited, but imagine if it went global for six months, and picked that up.
Combine this with the fact that we are importing foreigners as fast as we can, that according to the courts the President can’t possibly stop the immigration if stopping it would limit any race or religion preferentially, our economy is heading for a collapse that will destroy our public health systems, and this is the wealthy period of r-selection when public health is at it’s most effective and people are exhibiting their strongest immunity, and you can see how the pandemic looks increasingly likely. Once the collapse goes down, these pockets of pestilence will explode, and what comes out of them will make it all over the globe easily.
Prepare to isolate yourself.
Spread r/K Theory, because once the pandemic comes you will need to avoid everyone
