It is even more interesting to me it was uncovered:
Pritchett had no idea that as he spoke, a small Cessna airplane equipped with a sophisticated array of cameras was circling Baltimore at roughly the same altitude as the massing clouds. The plane’s wide-angle cameras captured an area of roughly 30 square miles and continuously transmitted real-time images to analysts on the ground. The footage from the plane was instantly archived and stored on massive hard drives, allowing analysts to review it weeks later if necessary.
Since the beginning of the year, the Baltimore Police Department had been using the plane to investigate all sorts of crimes, from property thefts to shootings. The Cessna sometimes flew above the city for as many as 10 hours a day, and the public had no idea it was there.
A company called Persistent Surveillance Systems, based in Dayton, Ohio, provided the service to the police, and the funding came from a private donor. No public disclosure of the program had ever been made.
Look at the outrage. And yet, this guy is on the outside, offering a fraction of what is actually deployed that you don’t hear about. He even has to share airspace with other agencies’ aviation, and if there is aviation supporting follows, you have everything else laid out along the routes.
The reason I think this guy cannot get contracts, despite the minimal invasion of privacy and efficacy of his system, is because his system could allow one to watch the watchers, if the footage were ever to get into the hands of someone who wanted to use it for that purpose. I would bet two weeks of that video in the hands of a capable analyst would make for some very interesting reading in the executive summary. Ironically this guy is a victim of the very ultra-advanced surveillance state he ostensibly seems to be the very first baby step toward.
Take special notice of the story of the guy who did the shooting, and then was followed all along his path.
Do not do anything in the Apocalypse because you think the system has broken down, and you are now allowed to simply act according to your morals. You will never know who or what is watching and recording your every move.
