Another facet which develops when resources are free:
SALEM, Mass. —It’s a hot summer night, and leaders of the Satanic Temple have gathered in the crimson-walled living room of a Victorian manse in this city renowned for its witch trials in the 17th century. They’re watching a sepia-toned video, in which children dance around a maypole, a spider crawls across a clown’s face and eerie, ambient chanting gives way to a backward, demonic voice-over. The group chuckles with approval.
On Monday, the group plans to introduce its After School Satan Club to public elementary schools, including one in Prince George’s County, petitioning school officials to allow them to open immediately as the academic year starts. Chapter heads from New York, Boston, Utah and Arizona were in Salem on July 10 talking strategy, with others from Minneapolis, Detroit, San Jose, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Florida participating online. The promotional video, which feels like a mash-up of a horror movie trailer and a “Saturday Night Live” sketch, will serve to promote the new club along with its website.
r-selection is a scale without bounds. The longer resources are free, the farther you will go. Nothing is too ridiculous.
The most r of all r-strategists, Saul Alinsky, actually dedicated Rules For Radicals to Lucifer. “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop,” literally. This cannot arise unless resources are free.
It is tempting to be agnostic if you have never been given reason to believe. And yet, just as liberal’s recoil from Christianity with a visceral hatred, they either tolerate or cheer the open embrace of the countervailing side.
If religion were just a mentally-conjured relationship with an imaginary friend, liberals would not bother to oppose God or cheer satan – neither would have any meaning to them. But the reality is they care, and not just a little bit.
That the largest force for evil today takes sides so forcefully should be enough evidence to make the most hardened agnostic at least take a second look. It isn’t by chance.
[…] After School Satan Clubs […]
Great points!
Liberalism has an instinct for purity of evil, and gravitating to it, even if they don’t always consciously know what they’re doing. And you like you said, the hostility to the Christian contrast is so overt and over the top you feel like you’re witnessing a vampire react to holy water.
It can’t just be coincidence, there’s a spiritual nature to us too.
He is god of this world. Goof of this world. A trickster. A crooked smiling accuser. Keeps a list. Supposedly checks it twice. Hides in plain sight. Leaves his calling card everywhere. Promotes secularism. A globalist. A multiculturalist. Promotes diversity of tongue and open borders. Preparing for war. Has a lot of die hard soldiers already.
These idiots are going to be so surprised.
If any Satan mocker or atheist is reading, here’s a pro-tip for you: the opposite of hubris is humility, modesty and temperance. That’s at least one set of attributes that you’ll need when the cherub faced one meets you.
